,

Welcome aboard! Thank you so much! . . . We need all

the help we can get. There are a lot of websites on

breast implants - I'm listing some of them below. Dr.

Zuckerman, Ph.D. is behind the first two sites.

.. . She is campaigning hard to inform teenagers! . . .

You might be able to work together with some ideas.

As I see it, the problem is that, as long as the FDA

allows implants to be used, implants have the tacit

approval of the FDA. The lure of easy money is just

too hard for many plastic surgeons to resist! Many

physicans, of all types, don't realize the danger

implants pose.

Unfortunately, the media has encouraged the situation

by presenting the rich and famous as virtually

unflawed . . . I'm sure you know how photos are

retouched! . . . TV shows like The Swan, give women

the idea that plastic surgery is the solution to every

insecurity, and that looking right is the key to

success. But you see big boobs everywhere, magazines,

TV shows and ads, movies, toys, in clubs and on the

beach . . . Seldom does anyone ask women how she

feels, physically, or mentally after implants.

My personal interest is in what the implants are doing

to the children born to implanted women. The effects

can be anywhere from non-existant, to profound. At

least four women in this group have children who were

affected by their implants. The effects on children

have never been adequately studied. IMHO, this is

because they DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH! These

children had NO CHOICE!

At least four women in our group have been taped by

MTV as they told the story of their implant

disaster/experience. Only one, Kacey Long, has been

aired at this point. The attention Kacey has drawn to

the issue is phenonomial!

We've met with political resistance to changing the

status quo. . . Too much money in the hands of the

physicians and manufacturer's - not to mention

advertisers! . . . And very little money in the hands

of women made ill by their implants.

It's hard for those of us who have lost so much to

implants to be neutral. Most of us have learned that

we have to channel our anger into positive action,

rather than let it devour us! . . . This group is the

best one I've seen in my eleven years with this issue.

The women here are about learning how to get well, in

a large measure through our faith in God's guidance.

One of the ladies here, (goingtolunch), is

anxious to get something underway to reach the very

young. If you'll touch base with her, I'm sure the two

of you will come up with some exciting plans!

In the meantime, please stay in touch, let us know how

your fiancee is doing, and what plans you are coming

up with!

Hugs and thanks,

Rogene (don't forget to check the websites below!)

, you are so right. I had no idea it could have been my implants, when I was so sick from my 9 year old implants. info was scarce and hard to find, but luckily I hit on this group, as my 10th or 11 th hit, and got all the info I was looking for.

I am not against implants, or plastic surgery. I am for women knowing the full risks. For women that have decided to get them, I have wished them the very best and know that , they are aware of all the common breast implants symptoms and will at least, get them out faster than most of all of us did. The faster the removal upon symptoms, the better off you are. (I was 26 diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid disease with them ,as well as MS like symptoms, of which I am now after explant, only left with the thyroid disease, the others are gone)

I think a lot of women will get ill, and the FDA has allowed certain companies to keep unsafe breast implants on the markets after years and years of threats, and that it is a big money maker. Very powerful what w are dealing with. And I also think that many women are ill to the knowledge that they aren't "just big boobs", but a lot of responsibility in the future. More Money down the road, more surgeries, more scars, discomfort, the questions of "What about breastfeeding? and perhaps illness. Its a lot more than you bargain for, believe me. I think the more info, the better! I wish you well , any questions, feel free!

Website Idea

In the search for information about implants and implant removal I have really had a hard time... especially about the latter. Every site I have been to has a bais: either for implants... "Nothings wrong with them... thats nonsense!" (you know how that goes) or is very anti implant. As for the anti implant sites, not to many of them are put to well together (don't get me wrong, some are). However, I want to compile all the information into one site with a prfessional look. One were the facts are laid out.And here is where I think the problem lies for most anti-implant sites. They are just too biased agasint them (trust me I don't like them as much as you do, but I think this is the fatal flaw with most). People are often turned off by these sites due to their biased nature. Therefore, I am proposing a website that is not pro implants, nor agaisnt them. I wanted to make a site so that women can make an informed decision. A site that really hits on the risks and the potential consequences of implants. My hope with a site like this, is that I will reach a broader audiance and therefore impact more people. Honestly, if I convinced one person agasint implants I would be more then happy. Also, if I undertake this, I will try to make sure the site lands in the top 10 of a google search. (It is not that easy to do, but hopefully I will be able to get the site in first 10) I think the main problem with implants is that women are either not informed or they are niave... I hope to reach out to these people. Also on the site, I would like to put a fairly extensive section on teen implants. And truthfully this is where my real passion for doing this is. I am a bit outraged by the fact that parents are letting their childern have implants as graduation gifts. And I also feel that alot of the problem also lies in the fact that the teens do not know what they are getting themselves into, they are very uninformed.I would also create a big link section to hopefully create a web of information, so people can check my sources and also get other peoples perspectives. I am posting this here because I think the women on this board have truly been effected by implants and they want to help others. Would something like I mentioned above have helped you make your initial decision if you should have implants or not?I really would like feed back, as I truly vaule people's opinions on this board. Now for a bit about myslef. My name is . I am a full time student and a web designer in my free time. My fiance has choosen to have her implants removed and I am the type of person that really researchs everything to learn about stuff and to make sure everything goes as best they can. When I was researching implant removal, it has been VERY difficult to find information on implant removal: it has been scatered on multiple websites. This is why I want to compile everything for people to find information easier. I would also like to create an extensive list of doctors and a feedback section of each dotor. There are plenty of other ideas I have. Everyone's help for getting information together would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Please feel free to email or call me. jabuck20@...713 320 3108PS - I do not know how long this will take me to do nor do and get it up. It has just been in my mind, and I could not sleep last night because I was thinking about it all night. I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

Thank you for both your replies. One thing in there was really

jumping out at me from what the two of you said was about the

children. What complications did those four women have? And how is

their situation now? From what I have read, I have heard that it can

affect breast milk and I hear of one case where silicon was found in

one of the babies.

Thanks,
