Guest guest
Larry, Goodness man, that's some news. You just keep it coming, don't ya. I have nothing to offer you other than my ear and shoulder. Please keep us updated on what the docs say about the liver. I hope they can make it smaller and ease your rib pain. Guest guest
Larry, ? I am so sorry you are having to go through all this. As far as the liver, I had an enlarged liver and spleen last year after being on MTX , rituxin, and pred. I had a liver biopsy done which is what you will most likely need to see what is causing the enlargement. I will be honest friend it is painful. I am amazed at one thing that your liver enzymes were not higher with all of the swelling. ? Get better... You are in my thoughts and prayers. I just want to add one thing to what melly said... Get rid of her heart, cat's knees, uncle fuzzy's lungs and your liver and ribs ... well I wan to add my head to the list. I am a natural blonde and don't need it anyway lol. Love, Danni
Guest guest
Hi Larry, I haven't had an oversized liver, but I have had both billrubin and alk-phos elevated. My billirubin has been up to 185 and my alk-phos has been in the ranges of 185-195; They were high like that for years. They are finally better now. It's odd, it seems like Kineret is what helped mine get under control. The docs really can't figure out why, except for the fact that they know that stills impacts the liver and that Kineret seems to be the med that helps me more than the others. The GI specialist, etc, weren't too worried about the numbers. Other things that can cause those numbers are gallstones and blocked bile ducts. (Just an FYI). As for how large your liver is, I don't know. Are you on Kineret? I'm curious if it would help you.
Guest guest
Larry, I just went through a similar liver issue, and everything turned out well. Thank God! I had elevated liver functions (mild) and they also found there were " smooth muscle antibodies " present. From what I understand, the anti-bodies can be indicative of auto immune hepatitis. I've already had CT scans performed but this was my 1st liver biopsy. I have to admit, it didn't hurt much at all until I went to sleep and it felt like someone landed 6-7 heavy rabbit punches to the right side of my ribcage. They didn't hurt at all when I was up & about...but when lying down every breath I took hurt quite a bit. Luckily it only lasted 2 nights, and the results came back good as it is only fatty liver, whatever the hell that means. At least I don't have to worry about going on any organ transplant drugs (for now) to save my liver. I hope your tests turn out the same way. Just wanted to let you know there can be better outcomes to liver tests than what we always seem to assume (due to being real used to everything turning out wrong...LOL) and hopefully ease your mind a little bit.
