Guest guest
En Bloc means having the 'capsule' removed with the implant. The capsule is what the body creates to 'wall off' the foreign body - the implant. It can contain leaked silicone (if you had silicone implants) or, I suppose, bacteria with a saline implant? Anyway, it is generally a good thing to have it removed also, and some plastic surgeons don't do that. > > I am going to talk with the surgeon who placed my implants on Wed, > 12/01/04 about removing my implants. > What does it mean to remove the implants " en bloc? Guest guest
Gale, Welcome to our group! You've already accomplished a big step . . . linking your illness to implants. . . Things start getting better from here! When you see your implanting surgeon, tell him that you want your implants removed en bloc because you don't want to take the risk of spilling anything into your chest cavity. . . and that you want all your capsule removed since it may be contaminated from the implant. Often the implanting surgeon is the worst choice for explant. . . But check out your doctor and see what his/her attitude is. You need not be disfigured. If you doctor tells you that you will be, you have the wrong doctor! If you find your doctor is willing to work with you and remove your implants properly, and you are happy with the results, we'll be happy to add your doctor to our list of recommended doctors. When you start detoxing, you may experience what is called a " herx " . . . Different types of detoxes target different organs the toxins can get stirred up, or the die-off of negative organisms like yeast, fungus, mold, can create their own toxins. . . In time, you'll learn how to differentiate between herxs and being sick. You should proceed slowly and not try to do everything at once. You will be spinning your wheels somewhat until your implants are removed, because as long as you have a source of contamination, it will hold you back. Nevertheless, you will still make progress. For the time being, and even after you're explanted, one of the best things you can do for yourself is to drink plenty of non-chlorinated water, eat healthy, sleep well, and keep a positive attitude! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
