Guest guest
Thank you for this information. We were boiling our water. We have stopped because my doctor said that we were taking important minerals out of the water. I would love to have the name of the book that you have mentioned. Plastic is bad for anyone, we have stopped using plastic. Is it okay to freeze food in plastic? Much love...Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~````` DETOXED water is also important > > > > Hi there ladies -- > > Wanted to pass along some other info from that wonderful book. Guest guest
Dear Lea -- The book is " Detoxify or Die " by Sherry , MD She recommends against the use of any plastic containers (even Tupperware -- and my former neighbor was a big shot with them and then started another major company here called BeautiControl) or pouches or covered in plastic/shrink wrap to warm or cook foods in the microwave. She does not say that freezing them in the plastic pouch is dangerous -- though she would prefer that we all take all food out of the plastic shrink wrap and off the styrofoam trays -- because the chemicals in that plastic leach into the food it touches. She recommends that plastic not be near warming/cookding food as the amount of chemicals that leaches into the foods increases a lot with the high heat. So much for using those Reynolds bags when cooking a chicken or turkey -- it's back to the alum foil tents for me. She also recommends putting fruits and vegs in cellophane bags (instead of plastic) in the refrig crisper. For other food storage she recommends glass, ceramic or stainless steel containers. She also recommends that we not buy any beverages in plastic containers (from juices to milk to water). During our Children's Med Ctr yrs we were told that boiling water does lose some minor minerals but the benefit of getting rid of bacteria and heavy metals far outweighed that loss. Also, that reverse osmosis removes everything good as well as everything bad (the process used for bottled water). I believe that unless we all eat the ½ dozen each fruits and vegs daily that we should we need a multivitamin to make up for that. Dr recommends a simple charcoal block for the kitchen faucet filter. She also recommends putting filters on shower heads. I found myself taking quite a few notes while reading her book and that her detox program is much easier to follow (along with making a lot of sense). It is funny -- I like the flavor of the water better in the stainless steel container than I did in my plastic " on-the-road and going-to- the-gym " cup. I should have realized that since I hate the taste of soda in plastic bottles the water's taste was also affected. Regards, - In , " Lea " <devans@c...> wrote: > Thank you for this information.
