Did every thing the right way (paper work) Then when we wanted my father to

come for a VISIT for my son's wedding he was refused a VISA - 3 times? Finally

we had to get the congressman involved finally had to get him a permanent

Immigrant permit (that he was entitled to since he has 3 generations of kids &

grandkids born here) JUST so he could come legally to VISIT. He had no

intentions to meve here, & he's been back after his visit. I said to my husb.

Vivi...I have had Botox before, and it helped out quite a bit. It came far

from relieving them 100%, but they were sure much more tolerable. The

problem than, as it is now is insurance. My Dr. had to ram it down their

throats by deeming it medically necessary to get them to approve it the 1st

time....but now I'm on Medicare and they won't even hear of it, even with my

Dr's writing that it is necessary.

I guess if I was an illegal immigrant in need of my 4th liver transplant

(this is a TRUE story from California, look it up) I'd have a chance, but

there are no advocacy groups that I've found to help your standard issue

American!

Sorry for sounding sour, but my head is killing me and I'm in a pissy

mood. Add to that all of the swollen & painfuljoints and I'm wishing I owned

a handgun (.44 Mag) again!

Vivi, don't worry about mis-spelling my name...that is no problem at all.

I know GM is radically downsizing and mainly in this country. Yet I'd be

willing to bet the CEO will get a huge bonus for eliminating " costs " and

probably already makes 1000 times or more as much as the average American!!!

Yet the Little guy gets the ax, all of the time!

GM, Ford & Chrysler have to have seen this coming for at least 20 years.

I was an ASE Certified Master Auto Technician, owned my own garage and have

been a mechanic since 1985. The entire time many of the Japanese imports

have been built better, lasted longer and cost less. None of the " Big 3 "

have really been able to compete with Japan in every segment except for the

full size truck market, and who can afford to drive those with gas over

$4.00 per gallon??

Only NOW do they realize they need to be able to compete in that area!!!

Yet they still paid their upper management BILLIONS over the last few

decades even though the writing was on the wall.

I feel for you, knowing that there won't be a " decent " job in a year,

that has to cause anxiety. Yet our Government does NOTHING to protect the

American worker from corporate GREED! Probably because they all own stocks

in these companies, not to mention all of the " gifts " they are given

(legally, which makes me sick!) by lobbyists!

I personally think that after Lawyers, all lobbyists should be executed!

Harsh, but it would sure help!

Same here in calif and when I was in Idaho a personal plan got on your own they

do it all the time but a company plan or group I am with Kirk I do not belive

they can .I know if they could I would not had had any covrage when I was

working nor would my father or my ex wife nor my son but each of us has had it

threw a group or company plan .

I noted that you are afraid of your prior condition affecting your future

insurance down the road. I don't know if this is something that varies from

State to State, but in Pa you can be turned down if you are in an individual

plan, but if you get into a group it is very hard to be denied coverage. I

don't know if that helps you or not but it can't hurt to look into it.
