Guest guest
I would like to introduce myself to the group. I am from Western Wyoming. Out in the sticks, well not sticks, more cows in the valley than sticks. I just started getting raw milk and cream from the local farmers and began making butter to start. I thought it would be much harder than it was and boy was the taste much different than store bought. Once I figured out it needed to be room temperature and a few failures behind me, I have a fridge full of butter. (got alot of cream from the farmers.......) I have so many questions, I'm not sure where to start. They can come later. I got raw milk a year ago and we drank it with no problems, but my 1 year old ended up with a burnt butt. I was told it was from the raw milk and she was not use to it. My 3 year old drank it up like water. I am going to try again now that diapers are soon out of the scene. I know it is so much better than the store bought. We get good delivery of supplies into the valley, but the dairy products do not seem to stay fresh here. I don't know if they buy older stuff or what. I seems to spoil quickly and I get tired of throwing the stuff away.
