Guest guest
Hi guys, I admire your view on things. I'm getting there but some days are harder than others. Today I had a setback. My throat swelled way up. Got a shot of Decadron and a prednisone pack. Well, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. The GP didn't know if it was an infection or Still's. She thought Still's. The throat swab was negative for strep but she ordered me an antibiotic anyway. She thought if it helps, great, if not, I see the RD on Wed (2 days) and he can decide if I do or don't need it. OK, I'm beat, hope you are all having a blessed day. hugs Jo **************One site has it all. Your email accounts, your social networks, and the things you love. Guest guest
Good morning Jo! Honey, I'm so sorry about your throat, how are you feeling today? I know, you know about this stuff but the mother inside me won't let me be quiet so here we go: Ice water, honey. Drink ice water to keep the pain at a minimum and also it kind of helps with the swelling. Don't forget you have to eat as well so don't fill up on water only. Next I'm going to tell you to wrap your throat with a scarf or towel. Believe it or not you want to keep the outside warm to help with the healing (learned that one in voice class). OK, now I'm going to debunk some typical things people do. NO, orange juice! It builds phlem, believe it or not. It also does not deliver enough vitamin C in one glass to warrant a necessity. You actually have to drink three or four glasses for any beginning of benefit. If you must drink juice, cranberry, apple, guava, apple cider are OK, but remember to drink your water as well to wash the sugar content down. I'm sorry you're not feeling well Jo. I hope I've helped in some small way honey. Now, off the computer darling, go get some rest. Go on, I'll be here when you get back. Go and sleep well. Take care and be well.
