Aliza <<<<from what I've gathered so far, it seems that goat's milk is A2 milkthat A1 milk is a genetic abberation. Guest guest
Aliza, I don't know where you got your information, but there are NO breeds of goats that are A1 milk producers. Goats and sheep are all A2 producers. A1 vs A2 producers in cattle are indicated generally by breed, but may not fit the general breed tendancy. Genetic testing of individual animals is the only way to determine if a cow is A1 or A2...but ALL goats and sheep are A2. Guest guest
Here is the link Bob. The Phalia farms dairy tested their own goats - they are a wonderful solar powered artisan dairy here in southern oregon - and found them all to have Alpha S1 casein which is what makes their yeilds so high. http://pholiafarm.com/milk_and_milking.htm you will have to scroll down to where it says About Nigerian Dwarf Milk to find there testing information. good site to click around in if you are interested small mini goat raw milk dairy information. I speculate that pygmy milk would also contain A1 casein because they were developed from the same african goats.
