Guest guest
Hi Vivi The Rheumatoid factor(RA factor) and the anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) tests will be negative in almost every case of Still's Disease. Has your rheumatologist done an ANA test. If not you should suggest it. You say that you are not yet diagnosed. If you have the sweats, up and down fevers, inflamed joints in almost every part of your body, and RA which is negative, it sounds to me like Stills. Discuss this possibility with your doctor. Have you noticed any rashes on your body? Go to this link to see some of the types of rashes that Stills patients have: http://www.stillsdisease.org/stills_rash There is much more information on this site which can help you and your rheumatologist. Guest guest
Hi Vivi My son (32 yrs old) was diagnosed with AOSD about 3 months ago. He has continuous severe night sweats but states he has no fever. Not sure how you can have one without the other...but he states this is the case. He has many other things as well, including swollen lymph nodes in his lungs; pericarditis; enlarged liver; joint pain; fatigue;swollen hands; as well as other things, depending on the day I guess. One time his throat seemed to swell shut. Another time he was eating an apple and his jaw " froze " open and he couldn't close it and it was extremely painful. He had black dots infront of one of his eyes, and a dizzy spell. Also, very high pulse but extremely low blood pressure. His blood work is completely " off the wall " as well but I do not know enough about what the terms/names of the various blood tests. His Rhumy is amazed at how well he is doing, in spite of his symptoms. States he hasn't met anyone like him before. I have no idea how he is managing, but am very proud of his courage and his resolve to continue onwards and not think too much about what he has. I tend to think about it more than him, to tell you the truth. Reading the various horror stories many of the Still Soldiers have experienced makes me realize how lucky we are. God bless us all. Keep well, everyone. LH -----
