DONNA B.,

IF YOU TAK A LOT 0F MEDS YOU STOP UP! IT IS NOT EMBARRASSING BECEAUSE YOU ARE SO

MISERABLE. AFTER MANY YEARS OF WHAT WE HAVE ALL BEEN THROUGH I HAVE FOUND 6-8

STORE BRAND OF STOOL SOFTNER/LAXATIVE AND A SLUG OF MINERAL OIL WORKS.

IF YOU DO NOT GO IN 3 DAYS DO MORE. I KNOW BECAUSE I WENT 11 DAYS WITHOUT A BM!

GOD BLESS: MIKE IN TEXAS

Hi Donna;

What is this this your wanting to talk about...bowel motitility? Is that loose

in the caboose? Or rocks in the pails?

When its rocks in the pails, I eat a handful of cashews and in a couple of days,

its a landslide, a gentle one. Hope this helps.

Yes! Let's talk about it. Big problem for me. Have not heard of

Mestinon. Is it working well for you? I have not been able to get

any help about this problem beyond " take fiber and drink lots of

water. " Thanks for taking the plunge on this topic. I hope others

respond as I have felt very alone and embarrassed about this problem.

I have had for about 20 years now, recurring Anal Fissures and the only thing

I've found to help this is Metamucil. It's not too bad to take, the hard part

is remembering to take it when things are going well.

lol; obviously a man's description :)

I don't have the constipation problem for some reason. In fact, I'm just the

opposite and I find that being overly fatigued exacerbates and contributes to my

diarrhea.

Any thoughts? Doctors say that's just the opposite of what CMT patients should

experience but I'm not so sure that's true. If nerves are affected, couldn't

they be causing problems either way?

I have had great success with digestive enzymes (much healthier than laxatives).

I have tried a few and the best are from Celltech. I take them with every meal

and now I am regular as clockwork.

Warm wishes,

Hi Donna,

We fly to the moon and above but we still have problems with talking

about bowels & Co! Amazing. I have tried several things, some of them

work. 1° Prunes (dry ones, like raisins - we call them pruneau en

France). You soak them in water (a generous handfull) for a couple of

hours, you eat them and drink the water. Late hours are the best but it may wake

you up early; 2° Eggplants (a nice dish to eat): you put them (without leaves)

into boiling water for about 12-15 minutes (they become soft and wrinkled but

not too much), cool them with cold water, dry them, slice them, put some goat

cheese or mozzarella, add spices, top with crushed tomatoes (with garlic and

sugar) and put them in the oven for 10 minutes. Or mix boiled eggplants with

garlic and olive oil to get an eggplant caviar! It's delicious and often works

(once again I eat it for supper); 3° Lots of laughter ut a real one, from the

belly!; 4° Yoga or other exercises wherether is a pressure on your stomach; 3°

Fixing and mending where you have to lay, to crouch and move a lot; 4° Taking

someone to a restaurant and having an exciting conversation that was not planned

before. Drinking lots of water doesn't help me at all. A you see I'm for

" naturtal " solutions. Good luck!

Hi ya Mike;

My wife feeds me oatmeal mush alot and I consume alot of water, which seems to

do what I want it to do. Sometimes I get mush so often, that I began referring

to it as ' prison food'. My sweety gets my breakfast as she is geting ready for

work, mush is easy to fix.

I know what your saying when you say we take a handful of meds. As do I. But I

've never given it a thought of becoming 'plugged up', hmmmmm. I guess because

it seems as though I am on the THRONE so much of the time, I don't feel that

way.

Your use ofmineral oil, seems only 'Natural', for a Texan, to use.... If your

not one of them [oil rich guys], mineral is a good substitute. HEY, HAVE A GREAT

DAY! AND SURVIVE, MY HUMOR.

Hi Debbie;

I'm Dennis.... I eat oatmeal mush 3 times a weekm drink lots of water, and

in the evening, just once in a while, I eat whole cashew nuts. Just that, has

kept me on the THRONE regularily. And its tastey. DB
