Guest guest
Donna, Tami, Dennis, and others, After surgery (and subsequent opiate medications for awhile) I learned a very simple solution. Drink 1/4 cup of warmed prune juice first thing in the morning, followed by a bottle of water. Secondly, remember that many medications have a side effect of constipation, so a high fiber diet (I don't mean an added powder fiber) I mean plenty of fruit, vegetables, water, and oatmeal. Along with these dietary 'helps', cut refined sugar, sweets, etc. And keep drinking water - bottled water is best. Third, staying active, getting regular exercise will help greatly, and don't sit for extended periods of time, take frequent breaks, get up and move around.
