Hi Miranda

My daughter had 4 casts at Shriners SLC - they really are fabulous!

I'm guessing the casts weigh a couple of pounds?? Doesn't sound like

much, for an adult, but on a small child... My little girl was older

when she went into a cast (4 yrs old) - But she did GREAT! She

actually preferred casts to bracing!

Our experience re pre-op - The nurses will put the numbing " magic "

cream on both hands an hour or so before they go down, and the versed

will be given around 30 minutes - (approx) before they are taken

(with you) to pre-op.

The day before surgery the anesthesiologist will come and talk to

you, ask lots of questions, and answer all yours!

There are photos of my daughter's cast under Siobhan's album in the

photo's section.

We'll be thinking of you on Monday, and next week.
