Guest guest
thanks, you are the first I've heard from other than Gretchen. I stay on computer it seems and due to that fact have developed red areas on back of thighs due to pressure so I have to get off scooter every so often to help. I'm having an off day today, tired. Guest guest
HI , Thanks so much for your email! That is crazy that our kids were born on the same day. In fact, someone else on this group also contacted me, and their child was born that day, too. Random! So, I must be the biggest idiot in the world. What is Cranial Sacral Therapy? We are going through a neurosurgeon for his banding, etc. and no-one has mentioned this to me at all. Tru had his first night (since his initial sore) back in his helmet. He did okay, but was so fussy at 3:00 this morning, I gave up and took him out of it until he woke up for the day. Hopefully it will go more smoothly tonight. How did Ella adjust to it? Guest guest
Hi Jill! Craniosacral therapy was first brought to my attention through the early intervention program in my area, www.upledger.com is the website for the institute where it was developed and where therapists train, the site may be able to lead you to some therapists in your area. The orthotist who we go to for Ella's helmet is a real believer in it, although the neurosurgeon thought it was hokey!! So that may be why your Dr. never mentioned it. Many moms swear by it, some have even avoided banding because of it...I figure what can it hurt, I'm willing to try anything at this point!! Ella adjusted to the helmet really well, she has her moments of course, but for the most part it doesn't faze her one bit! The biggest problem we have been having is the fit...she has been getting red marks on her forehead that don't go away.. Guest guest
Hi ! We are having SUCH a hard time with the red spots on Truman, too. I have taken his band in twice now to be shaved down (it keeps rubbing the same spot on the back of his head) and they still can't seem to get it right. Saturday night was his second night back in the band overnight, and when I took it off Sunday morning, there was a HUGE red mark. It's still there, so we haven't put it back on him again. At this rate, he is going to be wearing this thing until he goes to kindergarten. On a positive note - he really doesn't mind it at all. He gets crabby when I put it on him or take it off, but otherwise he seems happy in it. He sleeps through the night when he wears it, too, so I don't think the red spot bothers him that much - I just don't want it to get worse. We have an appointment in neurosurgery tomorrow morning, so I'll ask about the CST and see what they say. What have they told you to do about Ella's red spots? They always tell us to take Truman's band off and not put it back on until we get it worked on by the orthotist. That's what's driving me nuts - we spend more time with it off of him right now than on him! kelly keefe <kvnort@...> wrote: Hi Jill! Guest guest
Hi Jill, If you're having such trouble with spots maybe you can ask for a new band? Orthomerica is usually very good about providing a second STARband for free if there are fit issues that the ortho can't fix - you just have to ask! Good luck! Guest guest
Hi , where is the red spot? I have heard some babies have trouble at the bottom, just above the neck. sometime they have to actually cut the band up a little higher in the middle so it won't rub there. Sydney didn't have this trouble but I remember reading several posts about this. -christine mom to sydney/ 13 mo/ starband grad 10-06 > Hi Everyone, > > I just found out about this group while searching for information on > the STARband webpage. Guest guest
Hi , I think 's baby's red spots are on her forehead, and my baby's red spot (one BIG one) is on the back of his head - but more in the middle and not at the bottom. Middle left, to be exact. It's a mess. He does get a little red down towards his neck, too - but he has a pretty big birthmark back there so it's hard to tell what's an abrasion and what's birthmark. I have spent the last few hours reading oldmessages and looking at all of your beautiful kids - kids who lookexactly like my 7 month old son, Truman! It so nice to see otherkids that started with heads like his looking so great now.He got his STARband on January 16, but after the first full nightspent in it, he developed a nasty sore. We've had it shaved downtwice since then, and we are just starting to ease him back into it.That's been sort of frustrating, because I thought he would have beenin it for about two weeks by now, when in reality, we're still easinghim into it. It's definitely a process.I am a little worried that we are starting this late. Does anyonehave any good success stories for me? He will be 8 months old onFebruary 2. I just don't want him to have to wear it forever. Thanks in advance for your response!Jill - Tru's mom The fish are biting.Get more visitors on your site using Search Marketing. Any questions? Guest guest
Hi, I think if you attach photos they are only sent to people who receive email for each message. if you read the posts online you don't see them. to show photos to people who read the posts online you need to post them to the photos section. -christine > Hi Everyone, > > I just found out about this group while searching for information on > the STARband webpage.
