I was talking to a mother I had not seen in a while. She ask me about 's scoliosis. She wasn't aware he is in a brace now. As I begin to tell her about his brace, hears me talking and comes up and says to her, " you want to see my brace " ? He lifts his shirt and shows off his brace. And with a big smile on his face. He even turns around so she can see the back. (twin brother)says, " it helps his back " . It(his scoliosis)is as much a part of as it is . I almost started crying. First because they are getting so big and sounded so grown up, but mostly because was SO proud of his brace. And excited to show it off. I was so happy to see him proudly showing it off.
