Dear Jackie and others interested,

I also tried Vioxx, Celebrex, and then Bextra but had to stop taking each of

them as they cause severe heartbeat irregularities. Bextra is another form

of Celebrex supposedly easier on the stomach and digestive tract. Just

because I had this side-effect doesn't mean, of course, that anyone taking

it will; but still you should keep an eye out for this symptom....I doubt

you'd miss it though.

Dear Grace and everyone,

For us the rages were the first and scariest part of Annie's OCD

onset as well. There were other things that stood out, like the sudden

sensory problems and the separation anxiety and the hyperactivity and loss of

some skills, but the ANGER scared me to death. Before OCD she had been the

sweetest, most kind and timid little person - no one who knew her could

believe that she would ever get mad and kick me. We were never told it might

be bipolar disorder, but we sure heard a lot about oppositional defiant

disorder! I never accepted that because I knew she wasn't being defiant - I

knew it was an organic problem that had started with an illness, but noone

else would listen to that theory (until several years later). When we

recognized that the anger was from fear it almost immediately got better. I

wish we had understood that much, much earlier!
