turned 6 on Saturday! Ok, not a major accomplishment unless you count the

times mom said " You may NOT make it to your 6th birthday! " LOL

Actually, she is becoming quite the performer. She sings, makes up her own

songs, dances, tell jokes etc. Tonight she has her investure ceremony to become

an " official " Daisy Scout. And at the end of the month she will be going to her

first Daddy/Daughter dance.

She is doing very well, and we couldn't be more proud of her.

Ian can identify all of us uppercase letters and most of his lower case letters.

He's doing great with soccer and is getting to be such a big boy these days!

Dylan said his first distinguishable word a week ago ( " cracker " ). Before then

there had been some utterances that are debatable on whether or not they were

words, but there was no denying that he said " cracker " as he handed me his wheat

thin :)

Max started potty training on his own! We thought since his surgery

is next month we would not push it, plus the addition of a new baby

would set him back. But he proved us wrong (as always)! He's been

using the potty atleast 1/day and is so proud of himself as are we.

I guess the 6 months of preparing him for potty training paid off.

I know....I was very impressed....a cpl times I have thought he said " bear " or

" mommy " but it was too hard to tell for certain. But cracker is such a hard

word it was clear he had said it. Of course, I haven't been able to get him to

repeat it since. I guess it has to be on his terms or maybe he only thinks

wheat thins are crackers, I haven't give him any of those type of crackers since

then :)

LOL, you'll have to get another box for him. That's pretty common for them to

say a word and then have it be a while before they say it again.

Hi - That's awesome! And I know what it's like to be waiting

for it! Remind me how hold Dylan is? I'm concerned about my son,

, who is almost 18 months and no distinguishable words yet.

Just 'roar' for tigers, 'squeal' for elephants, 'uh-oh' when he drops

something, and recently 'wew' for 'wow' when he draws a picture. He

used to say 'eight' when he saw the number 'eight' - but now he won't

do it, so I don't know if was really a word. He may have some hearing

loss from the chemo, so I'm concerned about that first 'real' word.
