More Cast Questions - SLC Shriners

Hi - we are headed to SLC on Monday morning for Braden's first cast and

I just have a couple more questions. My experience with SLC has been

amazing! When I first spoke to Angie, they did not have any openings

until July and somehow she was able to work some magic and get him

scheduled less than 2 weeks later! We will check into the hospital on

Monday, he will be cast on Tuesday morning and then they want us to

stay until Thursday afternoon to make any adjustments and make sure he

is doing alright with it.

First of all, a general question - does anyone know approximately how

much the cast will weigh? Also, for those of you that go to SLC - do

you know if they administer Versed prior to starting the IV before

taking him back to the OR? I was also wondering if anyone has any

pictures of their cast from SLC that you could share? I have seen so

many variations to the casting that I am just curious if all the ones

done in SLC look the same.
