Deshea,

Ironically, I JUST read an e-mail from a mom who took her daughter to

Philly to inquire about the VBS and because her curve is too large

for the stapling, Dr. Betz is doing a VEPTR with, as she put it " one

titanium rib " . This must be the same surgery that's mentioned in the

article. If I learn anything more I will post. We are seeing Dr.

Betz on 2/19. If there is any interest, let me know and I'll ask him

for more information.

,

I know a mom who's 2yr old just had this VEPTR II implanted last week. I'm sure

she would be happy to share her experiences with you. He was originally

implanted with 2 pelvic rods last August, but one kept migrating. So, last week

they replaced one side with the VEPTR II. I haven't heard how her son is doing

since the surgery - she has 3 little ones that keep her busy - but I'm sure she

would be happy to email you. If you go to the VEPTR.com website, her son is

Adam. You can find her there.

My best,

Thanks Deshea & Carmell,

I am trying to find out as much as I can before we get a surgery date.

I'll post all that I find out about the veptr 2. Still have so many

questions for Dr.'s & D'Astous.

Carmell,

I am constantly astounded at your connections! I would love to know what they

think of it as well.
