Guest guest
> Anyone familiar enough with protein powder > that can make recommendations? Asking this question will get you a gazillion different answers because of course everyones tastes are different and probably 90% of the people supplementing on this board have preferred using protien powder over MRPS's (meal replacement powders) or RTD's (ready to drink liquids) at one time or another. Much cheaper (cents per serving), and easy to change to your liking with addition of fruits, flavored syrups, coffee, etc and you can even add it to your oatmeal, or fave batch of muffins. :-) My current fave is the Costco brand of protein powder (5lb container for under $24)but I have also liked EAS's Simpley Whey (dont think they make this one anymore or they call it something else now), and always any flavor of Natures Best Isopure (they mix well even with water). But one persons nirvana is not maybe yours, so you will have to buy causously and basically experiment till you find one you like. Always note how much protein (grams) you get per serving (scoop or not) and then divide your cost by that to compare brands. Also some brands have some carbs in them, can be sweetened with splenda or aspartame, or stevia, and may have addtl ingredients you dont want. You can compare some at the following websites: http://www.netrition.com/ http://www.vitaglo.com/ http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/index.html And you might need this after you purchase some that doesnt taste good on its own - how to make a protein shake not suck: http://www.physicalenhancement.com/store/article.php?articleID=50 http://store.femnutrition.com/index.html joni ---------------------------------------- *Lift well, Eat less, Walk fast, Live long*
Guest guest
I get whey protien at GNC. They have a good return policy if you don't like it. They will almost always take back an open container if most of it is left. Some places will mix you a sample in the store. > > Anyone familiar enough with protein powder > > that can make recommendations? > > Asking this question will get you a gazillion different answers > because of course everyones tastes are different and probably 90% of > the people supplementing on this board have preferred using protien > powder over MRPS's (meal replacement powders) or RTD's (ready to > drink liquids) at one time or another. Guest guest
One place to look for Protein Powder, etc. is eBay. I've bought Met- RX (not chocolately enough), Extreme Whey (yummy...) and ON Gold (jury's still out on this one...). I liked the Extreme Whey (I think that was the name of it) the best and it was a damaged returned, unopened, but it had a small dent on the container. The price was extremely low, like $15 which included the shipping. I always buy the 5lb containers b/c it's way (or whey...LOL) more convenient for me. Most people don't think of eBay for that type of stuff...thought I'd pass it on. Kim > > dpsnutrition.com > > Is the best.
