I use oxygen off and on and have never heard the flammability issue with lip

balms. I was cautioned about using any oil based product in my nose if it got

really dry. Something like K-Y jelly was recommended as oil based products have

a tendency to harm the plastic tubing. Of course, the level of oxygen being

used might make a difference.

I am recovering from open heart surgery on the 28th of February and I was

also on oxygen.

They let me use any kind of lip balm that I want to. In fact they gave me

lip balm for my lips in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
