I would like to know if anyone has found a calculator that would take into

account that I have had four kids and the last one was 8 months ago.

I don't think that the calculator was right for me. I have always been

think waisted (even when I weighed 103 lbs) and after a number of kids, I really

have no waist.

Perhaps I need to buy a caliper and figure it out myself. Has anyone had

experience with this?

Thanks Jami!!! ~hee~ Talk about accountability! ;) That's what I need,

though. I've come to the " humble acceptance " that my body isn't going to just

fix itself back into a size 9 (my smallest as an adult - 18 years ago).

I'll post more later...at work now. Shhhhhh. ;)

re: Newbie Here

Here are my tips:

1. Get the real BFL, read cover to cover. Re-read Crossing the Abyss.

2. Write out your overall goals.

3. Measure anything you can get a measuring tape around. Keep track in some

spreadsheet or something.

Weight, Height, arms (upper/lower), chest, waist, hips, thighs, knees, calves,

anything else you can think of. Take pics: front back and sides. These are hard

things at first but later you will come to peace with them as a starting point

and you will be so happy to see your results.

4. Estimate your beginning bodyfat by using an online tool:

http://www.biofitness.com/abodyfat.html (is a decent one)

5. Figure out your meals and workouts for the week: when/what/etc. Plan to

succeed.

6. Do it. Don't think much about it, just do it. It's hard at first because it's

new. Consider slip ups as part of learning and keep going. Don't look back for

12 full weeks. Post any concerns here. Check measurements at some interval,

write it on your calendar as part of your plan. Re-read your goals every night

before bed and again in the morning upon waking. Do a " lessons learned " each

week - what you did well, what you can improve on, and ideas for improvement.

You will learn a lot in 12 weeks.

Tell us how well you did. I expect to see your results posted no later than

3/30. I'm going to email you if I don't see your post.

Better yet, what's your home number? I'm going to call you too. ;-) Just

teasing. But really, we want to hear from you buy 3/30 come hell or highwater.

Pick yourself up everytime you think you want to stop and say, I will keep going

so I can tell Jami how well I did.

Hi all, I have been reading Skwigg's site, the BFL site, and found my

way here this morning. I'm getting the Body for Life for Women book

today, and look forward to reshaping myself! Any tips for a newbie

just starting out?
