Guest guest
Hey Tonya: The trainer I had hooked up with operates an on-line training set-up similar to yours. He meets in person with the client initially and then after 6 weeks. However, client's actual program and all reports are handled on-line. This really helps keep the cost down but of course you don't get the benefits of regular one-on-one contact. I noticed you offer on-line training as well. Just wondering how you and your clients are finding it? I decided to postpone my training with this guy for now. I haven't entirely ruled out working with him but everyone's response to his thoughts on the bosu really got me thinking. (the bad who is scared to start working out. Maybe my warped mind thinks if I don't ever start then I can't really fail)

You can do it! dani From: Tigani Sent: Thursday, April 03, 2008 9:23 AM To: exercisevideos Subject: Training with Tonya Hey Tonya: The trainer I had hooked up with operates an on-line training set-up similar to yours. Guest guest
Hi , What are you afraid of? Like said, you can't fail unless you fail to try. Set a reasonable goal for yourself - you don't have to start by working out for 2 hours 7 days a week (that would be crazy anyway!) Think about what you can realistically commit to and vow to do it. Even 10 min 3 times a week is a start! Take care! Donna --- Tigani wrote: >> > (the bad who is scared to start working > out. Guest guest
, I like the online training okay, but would prefer more one on one with my clients. In fact, when I update my website, I'm going to take the online training down so I can focus more on my gym and the clients there. I'll then only do the online training with the people who have already signed up. I actually started it so I could train some former clients when I moved and set it up where they assess themselves, which isn't the best way to do it. It would be much better if I were able to meet with the clients before and after their training like the trainer you're talking about using. I just did it to have a way of helping people I already knew and had worked with previously and then ended up with some other clients. Some of the tests though, aren't easy to do on yourself, so it makes it more difficult to get an accurate assessment when the client does it. I haven't had any complaints, but as a trainer, I don't feel like I'm giving my best to the clients because of it. Is the trainer you are looking at a part of a group, or just an individual trainer with his own company? If he is part of a group, then maybe you could ask for a different trainer that is more open to new training methods? If I had to guess, I'd guess that this guy has been a trainer for a while and is kinda stuck in his way of doing things and not liking the changes to new equipment that are hitting the fitness market recently. A lot of trainers who have been in the business for a while get that way. I was that way for about a year 5 or 6 years ago. Then one day I realized that I was doing basically the same workout with every client and it was all because I was stuck in a rut with my own training. I then went out and took several out of the ordinary certifications (stability ball, kickboxing, pilates, yoga, rollerblade, and even pole dancing!) to get myself out of it. My clients have seemed to enjoy the fact that I'll pull out all kinds of unusual moves now instead of sticking to the same old same old. I wouldn't hold it against him if he's in that rut now, because everyone goes through it. But you might want to find a trainer that either isn't there or ask him to be more creative with you. Maybe he doesn't realize he's there, like I didn't, and just needs a little push to get past it. And don't be afraid to start working out!!!! If you fail to try, you've already failed.
