Yesterday I was busy in the morning (my regular workout time) and didn't take the time for it all the rest of the day. I felt like a total slug. Today I made sure, despite the fact that I had only 1/2 hour to play with that I got something in. I decided since I missed cardio yesterday but love my strength training (on the schedule for today) that I should do a circuit workout so, enter the amazingly wonderful spreadsheet (I can't believe I like Excel) and I was able to tell Excel I wanted to see only circuit workouts and only those that were 30 minutes (and since I had choices listed for less I looked at those too). It was way too cool. I saw that I only had a few that were that length and, still wanting to keep it relatively light this week I chose Sansone Walk Firm. I haven't done this in forever and wasn't even sure I wanted to keep it. The verdict is in and it is staying!

In this workout uses the stretchie band and does 3 intervals of toning with the band. The rest of the time it is her usual walk routines, very simple, very basic, nothing fancier than a double side step but with fast music and she urges you to move quickly and dig into the movements. I like this one because it is so easy to make it whatever you want. I wanted some more intensity today (but felt really off for some reason too, I ignored that feeling though and was fine) so I pushed myself to walk with big movements and jump (rather than step) the double side steps. I also took up a lot of the slack on the band to make the toning as intense as I could (and wow, some of those were really intense, it was great). On other days, I can move less briskly and leave more slack on the band and still get a great workout for where I am that day, especially for just 30 minutes, it felt like I was getting a bargain, I loved it. seemed not low key but perhaps calmer is the right word. She talked a lot of course but I hardly noticed most of the time (in her Walk Slim workouts I get really tired of her "agitating" with the men banter). I felt SO much better for having gotten off my butt too. I just realized I haven't done my pushups yet and didn't do my 10 minutes of stretching (didn't do either yesterday either) so I will add those in a few minutes. The kids won't be home from school for another 40 minutes so I can get that in!

Tomorrow the teachers have a professional development day so I have kids all day and have to bring them to work in the afternoon and evening because DH is going out of town. I know I'm going to sleep in because I don't have to get them on the bus but I'm going to try and get up early enough so that I get a workout in, even if it ends up being another 20 or 30 minute workout. Tomorrow is also officially cardio and I don't know what I want to do yet but will probably check my cool spreadsheet to figure it out tonight (so I'm all set for tomorrow before it gets here and then I don't have to stand in front of the videos scratching my head for 10 minutes trying to figure out which to do).

I'm still behind on email but will get to it soon. I miss reading about all your awesome workouts!
