Hi Everyone,

Finally getting into checking in for today! It was

one of those days - we're having our kitchen remodeled

and today the new fridge arrived, which meant cleaning

out the old one and then reloading the new one and

cleaning up the mess from dragging the old one down to

the basement. BTW, I don't blame the delivery guys

for the mess - it is my DH who apparently never heard

of a doormat! :) It was rainy/wet this morning and

we have a mud pit by the side of our house. I love

the big trees we have, but no grass grows in this spot

and when it rains it is a mess. we eventually want to

put in a nice patio, but we're done with our spending

for this year!

Anyway, sorry to ramble! Today's workout was Cathe's

Muscle Endurance. This one was pretty good - I

believe there are fewer reps than in Power Hour so I

think this one may be closer to what Cathe is thinking

for the STS endurance cycle - I believe most exercises

are in the 10-15 range, I'm sure some had more reps -

biceps seemed to go on forever and, of course, she

adds in low ends and pulses which really kill me! I

stick with mostly 10's and 8's for this workout. For

some exercises I could go heavier, but others I was

fried on. I know I could do more with the leg presses

since I'm used to doing those from the FIRM workouts

and although there are three cycles of them

(consistenting of 2 sets) they are spread out

throughout the workout. I wimped out and went w/

Cathe and her crew who were only using one 10 lb

plate. I didn't have access to my barbell this

morning (it was wedged behind a large door that was

taken off its hinges to make room for the fridge to

get downstairs..)

Anyway, here are my weights:

Leg Press - 1 10 lb wt

Squats - 2 10's (20)

Deadlift 2 10's (20)

Row - 15's

Dead Row & Clean & Press - 10's (I think a bar would

be good for this exercise, next time I'll ahve one

handy!)

Biceps - 2 8's (16) but dropped to 5's when my arms

went numb

Leg Press (2nd round) 10

Lunges - 10 (the hardest part of lunges for me is that

the calf on my rear leg always cramps up!)

Chest - 2 8's (I was going to pick up 10's but I think

Cathe said she was using 8's and that psyched me out!)

Pushups - on toes (12)

Tricep Kickback - 5's

French Press - 10's

Leg Press (3rd round) 10

Rotation press - 8's (I liked this move!)

Front/Side Raise - 3's (I have wimpy shoulders -

especially on this move!)

Rear Delt - 5's

Lat Raise - 5's

I found the ab work to be tough on this one. I'll

have to keep working on that.

I'm not sure what my 3rd weight workout for this week

will be - I'm pretty sure that tomorrow will be some

type of kickboxing cardio - I do have Amy Bento's In

the Ring to try - but I have a hankering for turbo!

For my third weight workout for the week I'm thinking

either a circuit workout or one that uses compound

moves. Both of the Cathe workouts I did this week do

not compound and I think that is a good " functional "

way of working out.

My eating hasn't been all that great today - the

hassles of the fridge and " finding " food that I didn't

know I had. It wasn't all bad, but I could have done

better - of course, the day is not over and I can

still redeem myself at dinner time. I did find a bag

of some very interesting frozen veggies which I think

would pair very nicely with some pasta.

- meant to post about your tricep question - but

I see you got lots of responses - triceps definately

assist the chest and you will use them in chest

presses, push-ups, etc. Those moves often pre-fatigue

my triceps pretty well - if I went and did some

kickbacks or other isolated tricep exercise without

pre-fatiguing them with chest work I could lift alot

more weight - but it is definately more " functional "

to use them as intended as " assistor " muscles.

Naye, Carolyn, , and Darcy - I hope you all

get to feeling better soon!

- I'm sooo envious of the stock at your Ross. I

need to check out my " close to home " Ross to see what

they have there - the " close to work " one had stuff,

but nothing I was interested in or it was stuff I

already had.

take care everyone! I'm so behind on everything today

- I had a dentist appointment that I though would only

take 20 minutes but I was there for what felt like

forever! GRR!

Donna
