Guest guest
You'll need to give a lot more details about your situation. Sometimes people get on the scale at night or the day after free day and then freak out because their weight is up (of course it is!). Sometimes people weigh 102 pounds and come unhinged because they went up to 104 pounds. Never mind that they *need* to gain some muscle. Sometimes people come to BFL off of low carb diets. If you go from eating nothing but meat and lettuce to eating carbs six times a day, of course your weight is going to come up a few pounds at first. Sometimes people have never weight trained seriously and they put on a little muscle/water weight the first week. It doesn't mean they're not losing fat. And sometimes (rarely) people really are making their portions way too big, going way too crazy on free day, and not hitting it hard enough on the exercise. That seems to be a rare exception though. Here's an old post about the first week water and glycogen phenomenon: ~~ Nearly everyone gains the first week. It's a normal fluctuation in water and glycogen from the heavy training and quality fuel. Glycogen is stored carbohydrate in your muscles and liver, every molecule of glycogen has a couple molecules of water attached to it, so it's heavy. It's not fat though, and it won't make you bigger. Glycogen stores can fluctuate by several pounds a day and they're usually pretty depleted in anybody who's been low-carbing, dieting strictly, or not lifting weights prior to BFL. It's nothing to worry about. Read this: Why the Scale Lies http://www.skwigg.com/id12.html Occasionally, people will see a weight gain because they start eating bread and pasta and sugary bars and boxed rice mix 6 times a day. Here are some pointers on that one: Do You Want to Lean Out or Swell Up? http://www.skwigg.com/id55.html If you have any doubts, you can post a menu and get some feedback on your meals. > Hi, okay. Guest guest
Thanks for the links. Very helpful - especially the " lean out, swell up " . Quick question - the tuna pouch - this is a tuna pita pocket or something you get in the store? Kerry > > Hi, okay. I'm gaining weight.
