Hi of course I will continue to pray for you, your husband and family.I know that he will be fine, just stay positive. Jennancydewolf wrote: We had an appointment with the kidney doc this afternoon. Dave's kidney function has improved slightly but it isn't enough to predict whether or not he'll

recover yet. The doc is working from an assumption that the med he was on for his ulcerative colitis is what knocked his kidneys out of whack but still is not sure. He's made a small amount of progress since being released from the hospital (and off the med) a week ago so he's stable but not getting better quickly. He sees the doc again in 3 weeks. If there's more progress they'll just continue monitoring. If it is still tiny positive changes or no change they'll do a kidney (needle) biopsy to confirm the working diagnosis and go from there (the words "dialysis" and "transplant" were mentioned but are not definitely happening so we are still hoping they won't).The situation is still very serious but we are thankful too for his being stable and feeling good overall. He can work full time and do most things, as long as he's not "pushing" it. They can help with the anemia though (starting at his next

appointment) and that will be great. In the meantime, please continue prayers/good vibes/happy thoughts for him and feel free to put him on prayer lists, we believe strongly in the power of prayer for healing and simply support. The kids seem to be doing well. We're answering questions they have in age/particular kid appropriate ways and Dave being home for a week now doing normal Dad things is helping them feel good too. We want them to continue feeling that way so please include them in your prayers. Thank you again for all your very generous offers of help. At this time, we don't need anything else but are very thankful to have such wonderful friends and family to turn to should we need anything later.

,

Glad to hear he is getting better, even if it is just a little at a time. As for the scary words, don't be scared. I've had a couple of friends who've had to have kidney transplants and I've even been tested to see if I was a match for one who was having a hard time finding one. Even though I wasn't a match, they preped me in case I was for what the surgery would entail, etc. It sounds a lot worse then it is because of the T word. They all recovered well and have not had any problems, other then that whole no alcohol thing. I'm sure, no matter what God has planned, your husband and family will be just fine in the long run. In the meantime, stop for a moment and enjoy the gifts that God is giving you during this time. They are there, you just have to look for them. ;)

Who, by the way is O+ if you need it.

Hi Tonya,

I've tried replying to this once or twice before and the computer kept glitching so here I am trying again.

Thank you so much for your very kinds words and stories of success (and your blood type, you are incredibly wonderful!). We are indeed looking for and enjoying the gifts God is giving us... we are together, we can enjoy each other's company most of the time, the kids are doing really well and so many other things. It has always been our philosophy, like yours, to look for the blessings in even the worst situations, to give thanks for them and to try and bless others as well. He's got another blood test later this week and we'll get the results next week. Until then, we're trying to just be a normal family, trying not to stress (until the morning of the appointment to get the results)! :-) Support from friends like you definitely helps too!

Thank you!!
