Hi Terri,

I can't remember what the Sculpt 1-2 video says but it was something along the lines of when you feel like you've mastered the exercises and are no longer challenged by the 1-2 level then it is time to move on to 3-4. It isn't so much being able to use heavier weights as it is being comfortable with the exercises and wanting more of a challenge. Level 3-4 has an extra round of exercises (4 instead of 3 or 3 instead of 2) with some new ones, including forearm exercises, calf raises and I can't remember what else right now but I liked it) and LOTS more squats and lunges (LOTS more). It moves at a quicker pace too, with less instruction. I changed weights frequently for the various exercises in both levels (I could use heavier weights for biceps than triceps for example) so it helps if you know the routines fairly well so you can pick up the weights you need quickly. The additional squats and lunges and the extra round at the end (with the new exercises) makes it about 10 minutes longer than 1-2. Other than that, it is very similar to 1-2. I bought some heavier weights while I was doing 3-4 because the number of reps wasn't challenging enough with the weights I had on hand when I started the program.

Thigh fatigue... I'm not quite sure what you mean. Are you experiencing it during the exercises, after or both? I know I had a lot of fatigue during both workouts when I first started. I could do all the squats and lunges in Sculpt 1-2 but I think I was pretty tired towards the end. My thighs were yelling during the stretches though because they were so tired. I still find that happens during certain yoga poses and other exercises where I have to put a lot of body weight concentrated on my thighs and hold that position though P90 did help me gain strength in my thighs. It seemed like it took a long time to build up the strength and I do feel like I could use more work in that area.

I hope that helps!

A question for anyone familiar with P90

I'm currently 2 weeks into P90, 1-2. I'm getting better at the cardio, but my thighs are still fatiguing on me. I suspect this will get better and improve over time, as it has so far. But my question is this...

I'm now up to 5lb weights on Sculpt 1-2 and think I'm ready to move on to 8lb weights. I'll alternate between the 5s and 8s before moving to 8s alone, but 8 is the heaviest weight I own. Once I master 8lb repetitions, would it be good to move onto Sculpt 3-4? Just how much harder and different is 3-4?

PS - if you have any suggestions about the thigh fatigue, please let me know.

PPS - it's not helping that I saw P90 on sale on Craig'slist.com for $15!!!

, thanks for all this info. It was a great help.

I think I'm going to work on the 8lb weights for sculpt 1-2 and see how that goes for the next week. If I feel I've got it mastered, I'll move onto 3-4, or maybe alternate 1-2 and 3-4. I'm not a fan of more lunges, but my butt will get more of the workout it needs.

As for the thigh fatigue - it's during the workout, not after. Sometimes I get it in my calves, too, but not much because it's only one of the exercises that causes it (although I can't remember which one at the moment). Maybe it's just like you said - I need to concentrate and work on my thighs more and they'll get there eventually. Consider me one of the 40+ club around here (I'm 44), and my body doesn't react as quickly as it did 10 or 20 years ago. :)

Okay, I started my third week today and am looking forward to keeping this going. But I have to write to P90 because there's a problem with my DVD. It's always something, isn't it?

Thanks again!
