This morning I did The Firm Jiggle Free Buns for the first time, but I hope not the last. I'm getting used to their complete lack of chat/personality and just business (with a smile ) attitude and found it didn't bother me as much as it used to when I first started trying these videos. This uses the Transfirmer but since I don't have one I used my step, risers and slanted risers plus dumbbells. I got a little annoyed by having to keep moving the step around and adding/taking away risers but I think if I were to do this a few more times, I'll hopefully know what is coming next and be able to get ready for it quickly without having to pause the tape as much or for as long. I can see advantage to just using the Transfirmer and am still thinking I might get one eventually but need to see if I can get used to the changes with the equipment I have first. This was my first time using the slanted risers and I liked them a lot. I might do one or more of the workouts that came with them next week.

I was concerned about how my hips would do with this workout but, despite a little "awareness" of them at the very beginning, they quickly loosened up and I've had no pain or other issues at all today so I think I rested them sufficiently and can do any workouts I want at this point without babying them.

My only "problem" with this workout is that the cues come so fast and she changes things up quickly. Again, I'm pretty sure that once I've gone through this a few more times, and possibly if I did Firm workouts more often, I'd know what a cue meant when I heard it and I'd be able to anticipate the movement. So many times I'd have no idea (or the wrong idea) of what was coming up and I found myself bouncing or stepping back and forth just to stay in motion but not following along. It was a little frustrating at times but I stuck with the workout. I think once I were to get used to the cues this would probably be a very good workout for me. Today I had a hard time keeping up my heart rate with as much time as I stopped to figure out what she was doing and/or changing the set up of my equipment. This was a netflix rental I've had home for a very long time so I sent it back as soon as I finally did it and put it on my list of workouts to buy at some point (along with Jiggle Free Arms, I still need to try Jiggle Free Abs and that one is in my netflix queue too).

Since I only burned about 180 calories doing this workout and my goal is at least 200 for a workout and because I wanted some yoga anyway, I added on Yoga Basics from the 10 Min. Solution Yoga video. I've done this one a few times and like it. Lara Hudson spends a couple of minutes teaching breathing and then does some sun salutations. It got my heart going again and felt good to stretch too. I want to do more on this video soon, I really like it a lot. I ended up at about 220 or 230 calories and that was good enough, plus I was rushed for time so I stopped there (though some relaxation would have been nice too).

DD and I had an AWESOME time at our Zoo Snooze Saturday through Sunday though there was very little "snooze" to it. I was a little low on energy this morning still but hopefully will get more sleep tonight.

Tomorrow is cardio and I'm taking on Cathe's Basic Step workout for the very first time! I'm really excited about it too!
