Guest guest
And I don't think I'll be doing it. Here's how it goes: instructs a demonstrator (Jewell) through the exercises but does not do any of them herself. Two 3 pound soft balls are used for it. The first 5 or 6 minutes are just instruction on how to do the exercises, which is nice for a beginner. Then there is a 6 exercise workout that lasts 7 minutes and 3 minutes of stretching (without the balls). It looks good, especially if you're really tight on time, which I often am, but it looks like it would be really helpful to have the balls, instead of just dumbbells, and I'm not buying them for this workout. She has you put one ball between your legs and then do various things for the core and with the arms, there's one where you do a bridge with one foot on a ball and one hand goes back beyond your head and then forward to your side (holding the ball). There's another one where you put your head on one ball and do other things that I can't remember. I can't see putting my head on even a neoprene dumbbell and even holding one between my legs seems like it might be tricky. This workout seems to focus mostly on core though she doesn't specifically say that. I like the idea of doing core work with weights, I can see that even this short workout might be quite effective if you do it often enough. instructs very clearly so if this appeals to you I don't think it would be a waste, it just isn't what I want and I have other short core workouts I like better so it is going in my trade/sell pile and I'm going to find another workout for tomorrow (I had this scheduled for Friday). I feel kind of funny about not even trying it before I get rid of it but I really don't think it will work for me especially because I don't have the balls and don't feel like trying to make it work with dumbbells. If anyone thinks otherwise, feel free to say so and maybe I'll change my mind.
Guest guest
Hi , A small pillow or a child's play ball may work. Give it a try if you have a spare 7 minutes! Guest guest
, I actually got a set of 2 pound balls at Ross last year and have yet to do the workout that came with them. It's on my list to be done this year, though!!! I wouldn't get rid of it just yet, if I were you. You never know when you'll find a good deal like I got on the balls from Ross. You could also use some small balls like you'd play with your kids with. I actually saw some at Dollar Tree today that were about 6" and squishy that would be perfect for doing this workout with to work up to the weighted balls. You'd be suprised at just how much an air filled ball will add to a workout! I use some 9" childs play balls during my pilates classes and the ladies always groan when I get them out because they know that they are going to feel it more just from holding those balls while doing the exercises. Guest guest
I worked on the wording of the message itself to try and not (deliberately) evoke such a response but I couldn't do much about the title! Glad he enjoyed it anyway!! ;-) Re: Watched Druce Energy Balls sorry but when dh saw "energy balls" the jokes have been just rolling over on this end LOL. i believe denise druce are the workouts at ross that are over abundance off. i haven't seen any specific reviews though. Guest guest
Alright, between you and the others that have told me to hold onto it and try anyway, I will! :-) I was going to do it this afternoon but ended up running around like crazy and now, have to motivate myself to try it tonight. I might. If I do, I'll definitely let you know. Thanks Donna! Watched Druce Energy BallsTo: exercisevideos Date: Thursday, May 22, 2008, 10:37 AM And I don't think I'll be doing it. Guest guest
We finally finished dinner at almost 8 PM, which is really late for us and made it definitely too late for me to workout. DH says I "look pale and drained" too (I have olive skin so looking pale is not normal for me) so I'll take that as a good reason to just take it easy tonight. Tomorrow I have to get the house ready for DS's birthday party for the relatives on Sunday and will try to do this and the weird Sansone firming workout too. Will post it when I do it.
