Hi,

On the calendar today called for All Pump Xtreme #5 Timesaver Lower Body and Pyramid Lower Body-Calves 2X, plus the floor work from PLB.

I knew I'd have to just go with how I felt because I wasn't all too sure I wanted to tack on the floor work from PLB since I've got some MAJOR DOMS from All Pump X before. This is how I ended up doing the workout.

APX Lower Body Timesaver:

Bucket squats- body bar

Hack Squats-35 lb.

Down and ups- body bar

curtsy/side lunges- 10 LB DB

stiff leg deadlifts- 35 LB

I stopped here and went to PLB and did the calves twice through. Then went back to APX and picked up with the hamstring curls.

I did the hamstring curls on the floor on all fours with a 5 LB weight behind my knee and did raises. I don't feel the exercise with the way Amy does it using the band, its a complete waste of time for me.

Next and last was floor work doing hamstring pushes. She does 3 sets of these and my legs felt really worked by the end.

This workout still clocked in at 55 minutes. I might add on PLB floor work this evening depending on how my legs feel later.

Still have cool temps here. I'll be glad when it warms up which it's supposed to over the weekend.

Have a great day!

I just got done reading on overreaching and overtraining, and it's scary stuff.

I don't know much about it except that you feel fatigue. I didn't want to have to do a lighter workout this morning, but I had to listen to my body. I'm afraid I would've felt worse if I would've tried to conquer Imax.

Has your Heart Rate been elevated? Like upon waking up?

No, I don't think so. Now that you mention that I remember that being another sign.

I really think I just overdone it with Monday's workout and then yesterday was PLB and I woke up sore in the hamstrings this morning from that. I can tell you I will NEVER do that particular workout like that again.

I have cardio down for one more day this week and one more upper body, but I'm really debating on even doing upper body at all this week even if I'm no longer sore. I have it planned to do on Friday, but I'm wondering if I should do something else instead...

Maybe by pushing so hard on Monday you just "overreached" a bit . Good job on listening to your body, and don't push it too far before you're feeling 100% again :)

Thanks for the info Darcy. I can tell you've definitely done your homework on this stuff. :)

Since you explained it, it does seem like that's what I done. I'm hoping I feel myself again ASAP.

Hi!

I hope you get to feeling back to normal soon, ! That must have been SOME upper body workout! I felt a bit weak on Monday after doing upper body on Sunday - but I think it may have been the heat, it has cooled down here and I feel better.

Take care!Donna

Hi,

This mornings workout was Imax (skipping every other step segment) I was really hoping I'd be able to do this one and would feel better this morning, but I don't. My low back is sore and now since PLB yesterday my hamstrings are sore. I still feel really weak and all my muscle feel really achy.

I'm sorry I'm being such a bummer and complainer. I'm beginning to sound like my DD.

I tried to find something that would compare to Imax that was much lower impact that I thought would be doable so I did Low Max (cardio premix). This was very doable and worked well for me. Maximum Intensity Strength abs was also on the schedule so after the cardio I did that. I burned 370 total including the abs.

I'm really hoping by tomorrow I'll be back to normal. It seems weird that the upper body workout I did at the start of the week would be causing me to still feel this way, but I've felt this way ever since right after that workout. Not sure why its hanging on to me, but I'll press on regardless even if it means doing lighter workouts the rest of the week. :(

Have a great day!!

Hi ,

Has your Heart Rate been elevated? Like upon waking up? I think that is one of the signs of overtraining. Be careful, you don't want to crash and burn! :)

From what I understand overreaching is just a milder form of overtraining. To recover from overreaching it can take days or weeks. To recover from overtraining it can take several weeks or several months.Signs include: increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, loss of appetite, decreased body mass, sleep distrubances, emotional instability , and elevated basal metabolic rate.

Maybe by pushing so hard on Monday you just " overreached " a bit . Good job on listening to your body, and don't push it too far before you're feeling 100% again :)Darcy

Um, I had to copy that from my text..LOL... It is actually on the chapter I'm currently working on. Memorizing is sooo hard for me! But I will get there. I'm making a ton of flashcards too so when I have completed the course, I will go over the flashcards (again, and again and again). (I already have nearly 200 and I wrote on the front and back of some..ugh...

wow! i dont know how you exercise at 5am like that michelle!! impressive!

I usually get up at 6 am, but when I have an appointment or something I have to do I have to get up earlier to be able to have breakfast and get my workout done. I'll be doing it again tomorrow morning too.
