I needed a quick (30 min or less) workout that wasn't too intense because I didn't want to sweat since I'd taken a shower this morning (didn't get up early enough to workout in the morning so had to do in between jobs in the afternoon). It was another first for me, working out even though I had already taken a shower (another popular excuse for why I couldn't workout). I had to actually take the speed down a notch to keep from sweating (is that weird or what) but still got a decent workout from this one especially because I was in my basement where it is still quite cold. This workout includes the stretchie band during part of the last half mile. You use it while walking to do some upper body work. I think I'll keep this one, I still enjoy it. I might need to get rid of the 1 mile in this series but we'll see. While the tape was starting I did my pushups and got up to 15 on my toes today!! I'm hoping to get to 20 by the end of the month but we'll see. After the walking workout I did a 10 minute seated (in a chair) stretch from Tamilee's Total Stretch. I haven't done that one in a while and it felt great. I'm helping out at Science Fun Day at my kids' school tomorrow, making slime with first graders in the morning (!) so I'm going to have to try and get a workout in tomorrow afternoon, after errands and lunch or tomorrow evening. Tomorrow is strength. Not sure what I am doing yet but am thinking about pilates. I haven't been doing much abs work lately. Next week I'm planning to ramp things up in terms of intensity and will try to plan a week's worth of workouts by Sunday night. Off to take care of some of the household chores that got ignored the rest of the day while I was either working or helping children (who were off from school today for a professional development day) with school projects or other school-related work.
