I did an oldie today - 7 Day Solution - Cardio workout w/ Dozois and York.

I have this one. I really like the cardio. I don't ever do the toning except for abs. I use the cardio for short on time days or as an add on. Just that alone though, I burn 250+ calories and the combos are FUN.

I did an oldie today - 7 Day Solution - Cardio workout w/ Dozois and York. This is an earlier 2000's workout. Not sure if it was ever released on DVD or not. I have it on VHS. It is a half hour aerobic session and a half hour toning/strengthening session, taught by the team of and Tracey. I have only done the weight workout once or twice. The cardio I've done more often, but not recently. The cardio is a nice mixed impact hi/lo routine. Nothing too tricky. teaches two combos, Tracey teaches two combos. I'd describe the choreography as more athletic than dancey. It is a good little 30 minute routine to do when you are pressed for time or just want a 30 minute workout.

Afterwards I did the abs routine from Shape Toning. I decided to try this DVD again. My criticism remains - good exercises, but not enough reps to get much out of them. The ab routine was well thought out and offered a variety of exercises, but I needed more reps. Wheeler leads this section (I think Dozois leads some of the other segments of this DVD - which are arms, butt, legs). One mildly annoying thing about this workout is that after every exercise there is a pause - this is b/c the DVD has the capability to shuffle the sequence of exercises in each segment. But I find the pause to be a bit annoying. Oh well, at least I got some ab work in! :)

I finished up with the stretch from Women's Health Perfect Body Workout - an athletic/yoga stretch lead by Amy Dixon.

Not a bad day! :)

I'm not sure what I'm doing tomorrow as I flounder through this recovery week!

OMG donna i remember when i got shape toning from netflix. i wanted so bad to get into it b/c of the instructors and they usually come up with great exercises but i just cannot stand that dang pause between EACH exercise. i don't remember if that is the women's health i got from netflix but i remember one had a pretty good athletic yoga type workout for 12 min. kassia
