Guest guest
You are sooo going to get the Cathe " bug " too ..LOL. She really is awesome. You are guaranteed an awesome workout if you put any of her workouts in. You're not going to be let down. :)Glad the ball is working out perfectly for you as well! Darcy This afternoon I did the lower body add on from Cathe's Basic Step + Body Fusion and the lower body workout from 10 Minute Solution Stability Ball Workouts. Cathe's workout is 20 minutes long (just like the upper body I did this morning) and uses tubing, light hand weights and a step (the step is optional). My tubing felt better on this workout, maybe I stretched it out this morning?! ;-) Anyway, I REALLY felt the movements using the tubing and I have a better idea of what to expect from using a resistance band for lower body and how to use it too (so it is a bonus!). I liked it a lot! Cathe is an awesome instructor too! She tells you exactly where you'll feel it, how not to " cheat " and points out body alignment issues and common mistakes all in a very friendly, light-hearted style. Meanwhile, even the backgrounders were groaning during this workout and Cathe at one point says " You caught me " as explained that yes, she lowered the resistance on her own tubing for a final rep of one exercise! It wasn't a long workout but oh my did I feel it. I did not need to add the 10 Minute Solution workout but I wanted to know what it was like so I did. As it started, I questioned my own sanity because my muscles were already fatigued and this is not an easy workout either but it was a lot of fun (both of them were). My legs are now on fire and shaky but it feel sooooo good too. I burned 133 calories doing these and about the same this morning with upper body. By the way, getting the 55 cm ball was an excellent idea and money well spent too, thank you all for your guidance and advice regarding that issue! Gotta go, kids are home from school! Guest guest
I think I'm already getting it!!! I've now done all 5 workouts on Basic Step + Body Fusion and really liked them all. & Noble didn't have any of her workouts, otherwise I might have gotten one with my gift card! I looked at Low Max and I think the choreography is a bit beyond me right now but there were some others I want to investigate more closely... this is a disease... no doubt an incurable one but at least it will end up making me healthier in the long run (though probably poorer too)! Guest guest
A tidbit of info that I recently learned (while studying). For every hour you spend exercising aerobically, you extend your life two hours :)Spend away!! :)Darcy I think I'm already getting it!!! Guest guest
Wow, cool!!! My Thursday morning WW group requested that I talk with them more about exercise tomorrow and I will definitely add this tidbit and then I'll come home, have lunch and add 1 more hour to my life by doing Basic Step! :-) I love this especially because I still don't love cardio )though lately I've been liking it a lot more) and knowing that I'm doing such a wonderful thing for my health (in such a concrete way) helps me feel better about pushing myself to do it! Thanks for sharing Darcy! Re: Lower body afternoon You are sooo going to get the Cathe "bug" too ..LOL. She really is awesome. You are guaranteed an awesome workout if you put any of her workouts in. Guest guest
I'm glad you enjoyed the little fact . I love learning the " simple " stuff like this too in regards to exercising :)Tomorrow, I start a new client. I'm very excited, it's been a long time since I had someone new come. She's actually bringing her sister to watch my boys. I hope my boys are okay with that. They have never had a 'stranger' sitter before. Oh well, it's only for an hour, I'm sure they will surive. As long as I can get out the door.... Darcy Wow, cool!!! Guest guest
Wonderful news Darcy! I hope the session goes well! My kids are normally only watched by family but the few times someone brand new to them has watched (like at a gym while I worked out for example) they've always done fine. I hope your experience is the same and, of course, that they don't cling to your legs too much! Let us know how it goes! Re: Lower body afternoon You are sooo going to get the Cathe "bug" too ..LOL. Guest guest
Thanks , me too. It's only for an hour so I'm sure they will be fine. She's also watching the client's two kids as well, so that might make it a bit more interesting.. Oh well, I'm sure they'll be fine. Guest guest
I bet with the other kids to play with they'll do especially well (other kids area great distraction for mine anyway). I just finished my own paperwork in preparation for my last Thursday morning WW at work class until at least fall. (I put it off until 9 PM the night before even though I knew I had to do it a week ago.) I'm going to miss the people but am looking forward to not rushing around quite so much. DH has an appointment in the morning with the kidney specialist. We'll get results of last week's blood tests and see what we're going to do next... please keep the good thoughts and prayers going... thanks!
