Guest guest
Sorry about your hips and shins ! Sounds painful........ Take it easy on yourself until you are feeling better!Darcy I woke up with my hips horribly sore and my shin splints much worse despite ibuprofen and icing. DH's comment to me was " Run one day, rest 3?? " Ugh. He might be right. Anyway, I decided to just take care of things that needed doing today instead of working out. It was really strange having extra time in the morning and not rushing to get to work. I even had time to stop at a yard sale and get my son some extremely cool Star Wars toys (no workout videos for me though). Tomorrow is my last full day without kids and first day not having to work a lunch meeting but my car's A/C is broken and it has been HOT here so guess where I'll be tomorrow?! I'm hoping it won't take too long. I'm half considering bringing my laptop to the repair shop so I can preview some of my new workouts and catch up with the many postings in this group! I'll probably just bring a book and/or some cross stitch. If I'm up to it and there's time, I'll at least do some kind of workout afterwards but am not worried about it if I can't. Hope you all are doing well, I'm behind on my email so I'll catch up with you soon!

Guest guest
Lately, I've heard a lot about gluten-free eating and gluten intolerance but still can't figure out how people know they're intolerant. I guess it's a matter of eliminating wheat gluten and then putting it back? Or is there a blood test? Are there symptoms? I guess I should start googling. Let us know what you discover. Congrats on the 5k! > Hey everyone! > > I ran my backyard 5k in 28:25 this morning, which I thought was pretty good > after not running for a month and just getting over a mild case of > bronchitis. > > Still trying to figure out my achy body issue. Guest guest
There are some (unpleasant sounding and expensive) tests for Celiac's Disease and there are a lot of different symptoms for that and for gluten intolerance. For now, I'm just doing an elimination diet to see. My main symptom (though I have more than one) is muscle and joint aches throughout my body. Pretty brutal. Hopefully this is it. Bodyaches is kind of a wacky symptom to track down. 5K was good! I am pleased! > > > Lately, I've heard a lot about gluten-free eating and gluten intolerance > but > still can't figure out how people know they're intolerant. Guest guest
Please let me know how it goes. If it's something that can be fixed, I can share with the hubby. ) Congrats on your 5K!! Subject: Quick Check-In To: bodyforlifewomensclub2 Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2009, 9:28 AM Hey everyone! I ran my backyard 5k in 28:25 this morning, which I thought was pretty good after not running for a month and just getting over a mild case of bronchitis. Still trying to figure out my achy body issue. I am one week without gluten and feeling darned good. I'll add it back next week, and see if I don't hurt all over again. Only issue I have had since I started was waking up hurting on Sunday. Well, on Saturday, I had restaurant hashbrowns, which could have had flour in them and would have been cooked on the same grill as pancakes...so who knows. All weekend long, I wanted a beer too, but I survived. :-) My weight is still up about 10 pounds, but I'll get back to " normal.
