Guest guest
Yay, Darcy! I'm glad you are feeling better. Cardio and Weights always kicks my butt....which brings me to, I was reading on the videofitness forums last night, and I discovered a bunch of people who are happy being intermediate exercisers forever. I guess I had expected that I had to push myself to advance, but you know what? When I read that, I thought - hey, that's me! I'm not a beginner (for most things fitness), but I'm hardly advanced. And while I do want to push up my weights for lifting, I don't really ever WANT to be advanced. Think I just didn't realize it would be okay to stay intermediate. :-) Yesterday was my rest day, so I did a little 20 min walk to warm up, and then a half-hour of Bodywisdom Essential Flow Yoga - pretty much all leg stretches, as I'm still feeling PS legs from Friday, even today. :-) In a good way; didn't end up avoiding the stairs after all. I like that - feeling it, but not being so sore that it's no fun to move around. Today I walked for 45 minutes on the tmill. Haven't done a longer walk for ages, and I felt it at about the 30 min mark. Tired today, as I stayed up too late playing Tomb Raider on the Wii. Now there's a chick that's in good shape! LOL , loving this sunshine! -----Original Message-----From: exercisevideos [mailto:exercisevideos ]On Behalf Of Darcy LedmanAnyway, I chose Cathe's Cardio and Weights today. For the back exercises, I just went through the motions w/out any weight. And then for the abs part, I modified a bit making sure not to work "too" hard. I feel great that I got a workout in, but I must say the cardio kicked my butt, as in I felt out of shape.. Ugh.. I had 16 days off.... I think 15 too many..LOL.. Anyway, I am going to get back in the groove slowly. This week, I will do hour long workouts or maybe even less, and nothing more. Hopefully next week, I can jump into my upper body rotation again. I sure hope so...Darcy

Guest guest
Well, like I said, I didn't push myself too hard. Especially on those compound moves. I'm not a big fan of doing compound exercises. Maybe if I did them more, I would like them?? I am going to have one of my clients do some compound exercises and see how she likes them. I will have to do my 'homework' because I don't have any kind of routine down with them. Guest guest
Okay, this begs a question in my brain... what is the difference between intermediate and advanced and how can you not become advanced when you are continuing to push yourself towards harder workouts because more moderate ones become too easy (or do you just stick with more moderately paced workouts anyway)? I do a combination of workouts that are rated as intermediate and advanced, plus some beginner ones thrown in for lighter days or because they seem more intense than what I think of as beginner workouts. So how do I know what "kind" of an exerciser I am? (who just wants to be really fit and healthy and not really competitive with labels but is curious now) RE: FINALLY!/intermediate exercisers/check-in Yay, Darcy! I'm glad you are feeling better. Guest guest
Hi, I know I don't check in too often, but everyone's input always keeps me motivated. I too am happy being an intermediate exerciser. i have tried to push myself to advanced but wind up gettin discouraged and quitting early. It is more helpful to me to stay w/intermediate videos & then just push harder during the workout.
