Guest guest
if fatigued is setting in maybe a nice rest week of lighter workouts. maybe some low impact cardio or walking with some pilates and light weight work. i usually do a week or so of this until i feel pumped and energized to get back into tougher workouts. i hate taking complete rest weeks so i always tone it down. kassia
Guest guest
Wow, Terri, it sounds like you are getting some great results from this program. I do agree w/ Kassia of perhaps doing some lighter workouts until you stop feeling fatigued. It may also jumpstart your results and get you to lose more inches, too. Many times I find that after a recovery week is when the plateau gets busted! Take care, Donna Subject: 60 days into P90!To: exercisevideos Date: Wednesday, June 18, 2008, 10:04 AM No weight lost. No additional inches lost from what I lost in the first 30 days (still 3 inches from the waist, 1 1/2 off the bust, and 1 1/2 off my hips). I feel great! I love the way my muscles look and react, and I have so much more strength now! I'm no longer winded and I actually feel really jazzed after working out in the morning. I used to complain about getting up at 5 to work out, and I'm now up at 4:45! Woohoo! But I'm starting to feel the fatigue. *sigh* With 30 days to go, I'm now starting to think about what I should be doing post-P90. Any suggestions? -Terri-
Guest guest
Thanks so much for everyone's thoughts. You guys are great when I need motivation and ideas. I'm going to do just that... go for the easier routines and then kickstart again when I'm feeling ready. Thank you! -Terri- 60 days into P90!> To: exercisevideos > Date: Wednesday, June 18, 2008, 10:04 AM> > > > > > > > No weight lost. Guest guest
Hi Terri, sorry that I never did join you in doing P90 now you are almost done CONGRATS! I did 60 days of P90 before and quit, dummy me. Do you have Debbie Sieber's Slim Training? You could do that or get P90X. I think those workouts are harder and longer. Or you could try P90 Masters. Guest guest
WOW!! Terri, this is so awesome!!! Good for you!! Is it fatigue or boredom or both? I got very bored at this point. I also had a problem with my feet (using shoes that were too worn out for the high impact cardio) and had to go to lower intensity/impact cardio workouts for a couple of weeks but still mostly did the sculpt workouts. Definitely like everyone else said, if you're fatigued, do less intense workouts for a week or so. If you're bored, try putting on your own music (you know what he's going to say anyway), that really helped me a lot. Or, switch to some other workouts that give you the same intensity (if you're not too fatigued that is) but are fresh because you haven't been doing them in a while. Post P90 suggestions: first, take a week or so to recover... easy workouts. Then, the sky's the limit. I've really wanted to ramp up my intensity since finishing P90 and am getting hooked on Cathe Friedrich, Dozois and other more challenging workouts. I didn't want to get into another lengthy rotation when I finished P90 so I've been doing a lot of my virgin workouts and trying new ones from netflix following a similar format to P90 of alternating cardio and toning workouts or doing circuit one day and cardio the next. I'm still considering getting the P90 Masters Series and doing that in January (which is when I started P90 this year) but haven't decided yet. Hang in there for the last 30 days though, it feels so GOOD to be able to announce you've graduated! We will celebrate big time with you too!!!! 60 days into P90! No weight lost. Guest guest
I'd seen some advertising on P90 for some videos that Tony Horton has, but I don't think any of them were P90X or P90 Masters. I've looked into P90X and I don't think it's for me, because it seems very heavy on bodybuilding type stuff, and to an extreme, which I'm under doctor's orders to avoid. I don't know about Masters, but I might check that out. Thanks for the suggestions, and sorry we never got together on P90! -Terri- Re: 60 days into P90!To: exercisevideos > Hi Terri, sorry that I never did join you in doing P90 now > you are almost done CONGRATS! Guest guest
the P90 masters is just an extension of P90. P90X is from what i understand a pretty extreme rotation of muscle confusion workouts with some strength/muscle building exercises. just to expensive for my blood really but i like hearing how ppl achieved results from such an extreme rotation. most of them also followed the nutrition plan to a T but i hate those things b/c everybody responds differently with eating habits. have you looked into cathe or amy's stuff too. modified easily with adjustment of weights or with other exercises you know. premixes are awesome!!!!!! and you make your own rotations. also a big kathy smith fan and karen voight has some great ones that might fit for you as well. ldy_solana's domainScouting for All Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don¢t want to impress people they don¢t like.-Will From: handt@... Guest guest
It's definitely not boredom. I don't know why, but I'm still invigorated with the program and actually still have fun doing it, and I always end each session with a big friggin' smile on my face because I feel SO good after I'm done! Mostly I feel it in my thighs - the quads, actually. It's not a pain but more like an on and off burn but it's not limiting my activities during the day. It could very well be a plateau, as someone else mentioned. My body feels and looks like it's hit a limit but I'm not going to stop. Definitely not! It's just that the change in my physical appearance isn't as great as I thought it would be. There's a big change, definitely, but it's, well, plateaued! I guess this is a good problem to have, because two months ago I was doing only Pilates but I wasn't pushing myself aerobically. Now I am and I'm glad I did it (thanks to you guys!) I find myself running and moving and using stairs and all that good stuff. And I guess I also want more definition than I'm getting, too. -Terri- Re: 60 days into P90!To: exercisevideos > WOW!! Guest guest
Something else I thought of... not sure when it started, but towards the last few weeks I had chronic pain in my hips from all the squats and lunges. I didn't allow myself enough recovery time I'm sure and it plagued me for about a month or so after I finished P90 too. It still flares up sometimes too but so far I'm mostly okay doing intense lower body workouts again. You're really smart in resting!! Glad to hear you're still enjoying the program too! After you give yourself the rest you need you might find your body is ready to change more too. You're doing an absolutely awesome job in any case Terri!! I found this program really helped me push myself aerobically too and I'm really glad I did it. I saw Kassia suggested you might like Kathy too when you get done. She has tons of workouts and most of them are really good! I enjoy her excellent instruction, mostly good cueing and enthusiasm (although at times she gets a bit "too enthusiastic" but not most of the time). Also, a lot of people are getting excited about Jillian s' 30 Day Shred, that might be another option for you. I've got it and have looked at it and it looks excellent. I might do some of it next week. Keep us posted on your awesome progress and how your rest goes too! Re: 60 days into P90!To: exercisevideos > WOW!! Terri, this is so awesome!!! Guest guest
Yeah, I have a note to check out Cathe and Dozois, so I'm going to have to do some research over the next month. Hopefully my impression of P90X was wrong, but I got two DVDs when I ordered Tony Horton, and I do believe the other one was P90X. It couldn't hurt to watch it, I guess, just to see what it's all about. You guys have been great and thank you! -Terri- Re: 60 days into P90!> To: exercisevideos > Date: Thursday, June 19, 2008, 9:09 AM> > > > > > > > > > I'd seen some advertising on P90 for some videos that Tony > Horton has, but I don't think any of them were P90X or P90 > Masters. Guest guest
I think your impression of P90X is pretty on. Kassia did a good job of explaining the Masters and X programs I thought, as far as I know that is without having done workouts from either program though. Will be very interested in hearing where you end up going next! :-) Re: 60 days into P90!> To: exercisevideos > Date: Thursday, June 19, 2008, 9:09 AM> > > > > > > > > > I'd seen some advertising on P90 for some videos that Tony > Horton has, but I don't think any of them were P90X or P90 > Masters. Guest guest
LOL I'm starting to get a long list of videos to check out. I LOVE IT! Now I can see why you guys are always planning out workouts. Long ago, when I used to work out to VHS, I had only a couple of them and there was never any question about what I was going to do workout-wise. It never occurred to me to create a library. Duh! But with maturity (and the enablers I've found in this group) comes wisdom. -Terri- Re: 60 days into P90!To: exercisevideos > Something else I thought of... not sure when it started, but > towards the last few weeks I had chronic pain in my hips from > all the squats and lunges. Guest guest
michelle dozios is awesome!!!! she has her best body workouts which you can work into a rotation. i finally got all 3 dvds myself so i plan on doing a week or two with her in a rotation i am making. i also have her 10 min. solution workouts(she did the original and carb burners one) which i love for add ons. also she did the shape bikini body workouts(well all the shape workouts with lisa wheeler and tracy york) which are much better in the shape magazine workout dvds. 3 workouts on one dvd, 2 workouts on the other along with 3 mini target tone workouts. the possibilities are endless so i suggest going with netflix and save yourself money LOL!!!!! Guest guest
Hi! Jumping in, Terri - I recall you liked Pilates, right? Voight may be right up your alley - she has a few Pilates workouts, plus even her "regular" workouts have that "element" of elegance and control to them - so you may like her. Many of her older workouts can be come by pretty cheaply. Check out Deep Discount - I think most of her workouts are there and the sale is 20% off.
