Kassia - OT Autism (was WII fit)

Hi Kassia,

I hope you don't mind my asking this totally OT question, but I'm curious b/c my friend's daughter, who is also my daughter's friend is autistic (or on the autism spectrum, I'm not 100% sure where she falls into things) but I'm curious about the connection between autism and motor skills - I can't connect in my mind how those two are related - do you mind sharing what you know about that? I'm curious...(you can e-mail me off list if you prefer - or not at all, if you feel that my question is not appropriate). My friend's daughter attends Occupational Therapy and speech therapy - she has low muscle tone, poor motor planning skills, etc. I'm sorry if this is intrusive!

okay a bit expensive not really a "fitness" tool for me to get in shape but its start for those that aren't in top shape and those out of balance. the balance games are fun. i am no good at them yet but fun. this is definetly going to help viola more with getting her balance and hopefully help along with occupational therapy. they haven't been working on much balance as they have fine motor skills. she did knock me out of first for high score on table tilt LOL and is trying the tight rope game she unlocked. hula hoops is a great one makes you look real silly LOL.i tried the running and it doesn't use the board so be warned to wear some shoes but it could work for a light run. the strength stuff is pretty good but i would have to do ALOT to measure up to my cathe and amy workouts. but i could see playing with this one a whole lot as well. you have to get so much fitness time in to unlock new moves and games as well as moving from beginning to

intermediate to advanced levels so its something to work up to. i am dying to see dh in some yoga action HAHAHAHAHAHA! !!!!!!!!! !! honestly i could live the rest of my life with this thing and sports games. i just can't phanthom any other game being as cool as sports LOL. if you got a wii or plan on the getting it,this may be worth it too. it cost about 2 games for alot more.
