Guest guest
This morning I was (still am a bit) so tired. I did not sleep at all well last night and went to bed way too late too and I'm really feeling it today. I wanted to go running but it was 32 degrees at 8 AM and I was going to be starting around 8:45 and I didn't think it would be warm enough. Darn if it didn't warm up really quickly and it would have probably been fine. Oh well. When I decided not to run I then faced the dilemma of finding a cardio workout that wouldn't kill me but would be an enjoyable workout. I had entered a lot of videos into my spreadsheet last night (which is why I was up so late) but none of them were what I wanted. I went downstairs and found Sansone's Walk and Kick and said "Yes! That's exactly what I need today!" I didn't want a walking workout that had any squats, I didn't want 's over bubbly excitement and I did want a moderate workout. This one is very fun and is less chattery and less goofy in it than she is the Walk Slim and 5 Mile Advanced videos (which I'd been using as subs for P90 when I as having foot issues). It was absolutely just right! I ramped up the intensity with bigger movements and faster walking during the walking segments and put my whole body into the kicks and punches like I was used to with P90 and the intensity level was just right. I'm actually missing doing kickboxing drills (but I am NOT missing jumping jacks) and this was a little light but still very good feeling. I even got the front/back kick combos this time without falling down or getting messed up like I usually do! After Walk and Kick I put on Yoga for Inflexible People and while that was starting up (with all the yoga messages) I did my push-ups. I managed 13 on my toes today. The last one was really tough to get up but it felt strong and I was glad to have pushed for it. I chose a 30 minute hip opening practice because my hips are still really tight and a bit sore. I notice it especially when I get up after sitting down for a while (so I'm setting a timer and not letting myself sit for more than 20-30 minutes today without getting up and walking around). I think it helped. It certainly felt good when I was doing it. I'm off to work in a bit. This class wasn't sure they'd be able to run because it is a WW at Work class and they need at least 15 paying members. They made it, just in time (yesterday), so I'm going to do registration and the program intro today. This is my favorite group and is our 3rd 12 week session together. Many members are making great progress (and others not so but oh well) and it is fun to watch them change. They're taking a break for the summer, which works great for my schedule, but I'm glad they were able to pull it together for the spring even though it would have been nice to have totally free Tuesdays too. I hope everyone has great workout days! I'll be back working on my workout spreadsheet again later (I have 2 big piles of videos on the couch next to me waiting).
