Hi Everyone,

I had a hard time getting up and deciding what to this morning. I have been struggling to get up early this week - I know it is partially b/c I'm just not going to bed early enough - but it is light out until just past 9 - so I'm not "mentally" ready for bed until later. Plus DD has been staying up later, too, probably b/c of the light thing. I thought once we started camp she would be tired from the long day - but so far, not!

Anyway, I finally decided on Spreen's Absolute Kickboxing (CIA 2705, I think...) this is the one that has the combat intervals w/ the body bar. I did a premix of the workout doing only the cardio kickboxing and the core. It was a pretty good routine - definately not killer - but good enough to get the HR up and get some sweat flying. I think I'll try to fit this one in again soon and do it as an Interval workout - (alternating cardio combos w/ the combat intervals - there is a premix that allows for this). The core section, which I hadn't done before was pretty good - mostly a functional/standing routine done w/ light weights. The floorwork for core was short, but also included functional moves w/ weights. The stretch was pretty decent - longer and more thoroug on the lower body than most workouts have these days!

I have to say I'm quite sore from the Trish Muse workout I did yesterday! I knew I would be. The soreness is mostly in my lower body and in all the areas of my thighs that need to be sore - (trouble spots!) I'm still sort of stumped as to why Amy's Slo Mo leg split didn't make me sore, but Trish's done with lighter weights did! Either way, it feels good (in a twisted exercise fanatic sort of way) to be sore. I think I may break down and order Trish's Core Attack!

Tomorrow I was thinking of doing the lower body workout on e's Parts DVD...but I'm not sure if that is a smart move or not......I guess I'll see how sore I am in the morning. In retrospect, I probably should have scheduled this week a little differently - maybe doing Trish's workout on Monday, Tracey's Parts for Upper Body on Wed, and Tracey's Parts for lower body on Friday....but I'll play it by ear and if necessary I'll pick something that is more upper body focused for tomorrow.

For next week I'm thinking of following the same routine as this week, or I was thinking of doing Amy Bento's "older" workouts - doing her All Pump, Cardio Pump Step, Hi/Lo Pump (or whatever it is called!) for my weight days and inserting cardio in on the other days. I know it will be alot of cardio by doing her Cardio Pump Step and her Hi/Lo Pump routine, but that is my last week of formal workouts for 2 weeks - so I want to get as much bang for my buck as possible! I am going to bring a few DVDs w/ me on our trip - my T-Tapp for sure to stretch my back and perhaps some others - yoga, Pilates, Amy's band workout....I may also try to get to the gym in the hotels we're staying at - even for 20 minutes on a treadmill or elliptical.

I don't think I want to do Slo Mo next week. I would almost consider trading Slo Mo (mostly b/c I rarely do a Split rotation for very long...) but I'm almost positive I'd have trader's remorse....so I guess I'll keep it for the odd times I do splits.

Anyway, take care!

Donna
