Wed - Amped Full Throttle/Stretch

Hi Everyone,

Getting through those virgin workouts! I did Full Throttle from the Amped set

today. I liked it, but it probably wasn't the best choice for me today as my

arms were pretty fatigued from doing Power Hour yesterday so at times that 3 lb

Amped bar felt like it weighed 30 lbs! I did have to drop it out here and there

and that helped. Anyway, this is a typical Tae Bo workout but " flavored " by the

Amped bar which you use for most of the workout - it really is not too gimicky

as you can definately see how using the bar works you a bit differently than not

using it. Half the class uses the bar, the other half doesn't. This one can be

done without the bar for all the punching combos (there isn't too much kicking

in this one) but I would suggest having a light pair of handweights available

for some of the " toning " moves. I definately felt that I got a good overall

body conditioning workout from this one - legs, although not worked by kicks,

are worked by

holding isometric positions. I think this one would have been better for me

though, if I hadn't done weights the prior day. I will really have to pull

these Amped workouts again and do a rotation with them. I still have a few more

in the virgin pile to get through.

Afterwards I stretched out with the stretch section of 10 Min Solutions Pilates

(the one that uses the band). I warmed up with T-Tapp Primary Back Stretch (as

usual).

Not sure what is up for tomorrow - should be a strength day, but maybe I'll

throw cardio in for some more muscle recovery time and do strength on Friday.

Time will tell. I'm not terribly sore, but I can feel fatigue.

I also have to say I got a late start this morning since I spent about 20

minutes trying to figure out what to do! I almost did Cathe's Kick Max, but I

couldn't bear the high impact section. I looked at her Bootcamp/Kickboxing Pre

Mix on this one and was hoping that it was a punching combo followed by a

bootcamp blast, (I think I could have tolerated it that way since the high

impact torture would have been spread out) but it looks like all it is is the

bootcamp blasts followed by the punching combos. So I'd have to endure the full

15 minutes of torture first.

hi donna, i have 33 virgin workouts myself LOL. great job on fitting them in your rotation. i am still trying. i am hoping to try tae-bo extreme tomorrow. i bought it used at a very good deal when the hobby shop was cutting deals with videos that have been there to long. kassia --- On Wed, 4/23/08, Donna M-P wroteGetting through those virgin workouts!
