Guest guest
I've decided that stress is more tiring than working out. We had DH's upsetting doctor appointment Thursday, then while I was doing Field Day at my kids' school all day Friday our power went out and stayed out until about 8 PM Saturday and there wasn't even a storm! Some very strong winds were probably to blame. We were gone most of the day and evening Saturday so that helped us cope with the 90+ degree heat. Last night we were at a minor league baseball game an hour away from home and wouldn't ya know, bottom of the 9th a MAJOR thunderstorm hit and caused a rain delay. We left as soon as it was safe to walk to our car and we wouldn't drown on the way. Today was DD's recital dress rehearsal which meant I had to figure out how to put her short hair up in a pony tail and remove all bangs from her face plus put makeup on her. I ended up doing way better than I had anticipated so I should be more relaxed for the recital next week. Then, this afternoon, we lost power again (but only for an hour)! DS and I went grocery shopping after I decided it would be okay to restock (we took most of our stuff to my in-laws but I forgot a few things so they spoiled plus we need other things anyway) and sure enough, a storm hits there and the power goes out in the grocery store! After about 30 seconds of pitch blackness their generators started up. There were tornadoes and straight line winds all over southeast Michigan today but somehow, our power has stayed on for the most part. Needless to say, I didn't get any workouts in this weekend but I'm still really tired from everything that went on! As I type this, I'm watching Prevention 3-2-1 Workout with Freytag. I got this and Prevention Magazine's The Sugar Solution Workout. 1-2-3 looks good so far. Anyone know anything about the other one? I got them both free (just pay for shipping) from that offer that was posted here a couple of weeks ago. They arrived Saturday. For next week... I'm so up in the air. I wanted to emphasize strength this week but thanks to the power being out and everything else going on I ate really badly this weekend and am thinking I need to emphasize cardio again! My weight had been way down (too low actually) and I purposely relaxed enough to bring it back to my optimal weight but now I'm afraid I'm going to go too far up! Isn't that ridiculous?! Maybe I'll just go to my (semi thought out) plan for two weeks from now which was to do strong cardio AND strong weights now! Anyway, here's what I'm thinking I'll do this week: Monday: Slanted Risers Interval ( Spreen) this is a circuit workout Tuesday: Prevention Walk Your Way Slim ( Dozois) Wednesday: How to Get in Shape for Your Wedding (weight workout) Thursday: Cathe How to Get in Shape for Your Wedding (step workout) Friday: Get Ripped (Jari Love) Saturday: Eoinn Finn Power Yoga for Happiness... just not sure which routine yet. Sunday: Rest Since I haven't though this out very long I'm not sure how committed I am to this schedule but we'll see as I get into it. Monday's and Wednesday's workouts are new to me and Tuesday's and Thursday's I need more practice doing. Friday's I have only done once a long time ago and am really looking forward to doing it again. I've only done the Quickie practice from Power Yoga for Happiness and am thinking I'll do one I haven't done yet from that disc on Saturday. I'm trying to do as many virgins as I can but I also want this week to be powerful so I don't want to be learning too many new things either. Will post as I go along. Guest guest
Hi nancy, I'm sorry for all the stress you have been going through! UGH! Power outages are the worst, last summer our power was out for 26 hours or so. It was a nightmare b/c we are on a well so no power = no water. Not to mention the heat and food spoiling. It is a royal pain and really draining. On a happy note - your planned week looks very good. I'm considering doing Cathe's wedding workout (Cardio portion) this week as well. I was thinking of trying it on the BOSU though. Guest guest
Catching up on ooooold posts... We're on a well too, power outages really stink (literally). We were out about a day and a half this time. My in-laws had power though and only live about 10 minutes away so we took all our freezer/fridge stuff to their house so that helped at least. I'm seriously wanting a generator. Our power used to go out every time the wind blows, now it is more like every other time which I guess is one of the "advantages" to development catching up with us out here in, what used to be at least, the country. I cannot even slightly imagine doing Cathe's wedding workout cardio on a BOSU! I would break my neck!! If you do it though, please post, it will be very inspiring. My new wedding workout tape arrived earlier this week so I'm thinking about putting these into this week's rotation instead (possibly just repeating most of what I'd wanted to do this week though). I'll think it through tomorrow. Weekend catchup/next week's plansTo: exercisevideos Date: Sunday, June 8, 2008, 11:26 PM I've decided that stress is more tiring than working out. Guest guest
, I am so sorry that your husband isn't doing any better, I am thankful that he isn't doing any worse at least. I keep praying that his kidney's (at least one) decides to do a reversal and go back to a fully functioning organ. We can certainly do just fine with one health kidney. Keep strong. --Kathy Calvin: I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius. Hobbes: What's misunderstood about you?
