Hi!

I watched a little bit of Amy's Kickboxing Extreme yesterday while cleaning/packing for vacation and I just HAD to try it today. I did *almost* the whole thing - I just left out combo 5 and interval 5 b/c I wanted to have more time for stretching today.

I really liked this workout - the choreography is not as tricky as Amy's other workouts - it is more kickboxing and less hi/lo. I seem to do better w/ kickboxing choreo! Amy still does come at you fast w/ changes and moves so it is definately one that I will improve upon as I do it again and again. The intervals are pretty tough, although interval 3 seemed more like a combo than an interval - but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I know that Amy's form has been critiqued and I'm certainly no kickboxing expert, but some things didn't look 'right' to me, but I figure I can just modify and use the form that I have learned from other workouts. There are quite a few jump kicks in this one - which I always enjoy! Definately some high impact here, although Amy does have a modifier (she's pregnant - I can't imagine doing this one pregnant at all! :) Back to Amy's form - it really isn't as bad (or at least doesn't

look as bad) as what her critics said.

After the kickboxing combos/intervals Amy does some quick core work - using tubing for standing work, then on to the floor for some planks and back work. I definately like Amy's core work, just wish it were longer in these videos. Although, she does have her Abs & Stretch DVD and Slo Mo does have a 15 minute core section. Sometimes it is nice to not have to put another DVD into the player!

A T'ai Chi cooldown finishes up the workout.

I added on a stretch segment from Amy's Abs & Stretch DVD. Definately needed it! :) Between housecleaning, laundry and packing my back is talkin' to me!

Tomorrow I plan to do her Cardio Pump Hi/Lo and hopefully an Ab segment from Abs & Stretch and then some supplemental stretching. Then, it is on the road!

Since we bought a lap top for the trip (DH's father's day gift, my mother's day gift and our anniversary gift!), I'm not going to sign off or go no-mail. I probably won't post, but I should have time for lurking (or at least mass deleting)!

Take care!Donna

Yeah, I think the intervals are pretty tough. I really get winded on most of them except for one. I can't remember which one it is.

Have a fun and safe trip.
