Ahhhh... it was nice not to have to do the joint or muscle pounding of P90... though last night as I was trying to plan my workouts for this week and next part of me keeps thinking I "should" be doing harder workouts than what I'm thinking about because that's what I've been doing for 3 months but once I got into the yoga I decided it was fine not to do anything more too! I did the 20 minute Seated program 1 from Yoga for Inflexible People (off the general routines list). It took most of the 20 minutes for me to relax and get into it because I had been rushing around trying to get dinner ready for tonight (I'm serving a meal at a rotating homeless shelter our church is sponsoring and I have to work today so I wanted it ready to pop in the oven late this afternoon and I was making double, one for them and one for my husband and kids) but eventually, mostly as it was ending, I started to enjoy it. I notice the instructions are extremely detailed which I like but find a bit difficult to follow sometimes... like how do I tell my inner arm to do one thing and my outer arm to do another? I guess it is just a matter of time and practice until you can actually isolate those muscles. The voice over and person doing the practice (who is unbelievably thin and I'm not sure very attractively either but I got past that so it didn't distract me) matched well for all of the poses in this one. The only thing I don't like about this is there is no flow. You do one pose, then it fades and a new pose, which might have you placed differently than the one you just did, starts. That was minor though. It still helped me stretch some and it was enjoyable to use the various helps (blocks, a chair, strap, blanket) as I'm less flexible than I was pre-P90 and really did need the helps! :-) The series ended in child's pose with a block under your head to support you and a folded blanket between your knees and bottom and it felt good to do that on this stiff morning. I felt a bit refreshed from my crazy rushing and now I have to go do some more. Tomorrow I have a longer time to workout so I might do Yoga for Beginners or Yoga for Weight Loss. I have to look at them again and decide which one I want to do.
