Guest guest
I only got 6 hours in, but they were good, challenging hours. I think its more about how hard you worked rather than how long or how many days. Great week! ~~Delicious ideas to please the pickiest eaters. Watch the video on AOL Living. Guest guest
6 hours equates to an hour per day and that's great, therefore your workout week was great! I'm really impressed that you can run with cranky knees How rude for life to get in the way of checking into to the group :DTake care,Vennitta I only got 6 hours in, but they were good, challenging hours. Next week will mostly be at the gym, running, and on a bike ride, but I should get some videos in tomorrow I've been very busy with Life and regret I can't check in as often as I'd like to lately! Guest guest
Sounds like you had a GREAT week Donna! Fun, effective workouts and overall good eating. From my WW at Work classes I've heard a lot of people frustrated by the candy jars, donuts and bagels being brought in, etc. A lot of people do many of the things you're already doing, that is they have other snacks available that are healthier and less costly in terms of calories. Taking a walk is something that works great for a lot of people. I also set a timer for 15 minutes and if I manage not to snack for the entire 15 minutes I usually have distracted myself enough that I don't need to anymore. Try making a list of all the things you could do instead of eating to manage the feelings of boredom or frustration and then pick 2 or 3 of them that you are sure you could do and that would be most likely to resolve whatever it is that you are trying to get when you go for the snacks. Then report back and let us know how it went! :-) Week in Review Hi Everyone,Here is my weekly check in - I'm doing the "mock" STSrotation and this is cycle # 1- endurance:Sunday - Cathe's Power HourMonday - Kathy Power Step on the BOSU/Rodney YeeYoga for Energy "awakening" and "reflecting" sectionsTuesday - Cathe's Muscle EnduranceWed - Turbo Jam Medley - Cardio Party Remix and FatBlasterThurs - Yoga Burn (gotta add this in more often)Friday - Cathe's Boot CampI also did my T-Tapp warm-ups and added on stretchingon my owen after the workouts. I definately neededit.I think next week will shape up to be pretty similar.Food wasn't too bad - but going back to work broughtnew challenges - like jelly beans - which I purposelydid NOT buy during Easter b/c I know I have no controlover them. Fortunately, I only work in the office 3times per week, but I did hit the jelly beans andchocolate eggs a few times each day. It really is theboredom/frustration of a desk job and the work I do -which is sometimes painfully and boringly detailed -my mind wanders - I need a break so I eat - I waspretty good about bringing in veggies to snack on andI sent DH off to Costco to get me more snappeas....but when the veggies and fruit ran out I stillended up at the candy jar. I need to make my desk a"no candy" zone. What I should do, when I need abreak is take a walk up a few flights of stairs like! On the upside, I did get lots of fruits andveggies in this week and I was also pretty good aboutmy water intake. oh - I did buy something at Borders yesterday - I had$5 in "bucks" plus a 25% off coupon - I picked up thenew Moreno kickboxing DVD (Core TrainKickbox) or something like that. With all thediscounts it came to $6 and change - so that wasn'tbad. I've heard good things about it and I like - her other kickboxing workout by Gaiam wason the easy side, but sometimes that is just right. Iheard this one was harder. I also stopped in at TJMaxx after hearing about the finds there, but mine waspretty picked over. Some Stott Pilates workouts, butmost of which I already had. I was thinking ofupgrading my Pain Free Posture to DVD, but I felt thatwas too indulgent, so I'll just use my VHS for now. Idid see a beautiful purple purse there (purple andgreen are my two favorite colors). When I looked atthe price tag, ($200, and that was the discounted TJMaxx price), however, I couldn't bring myself to buyit. It was really nice though! Hope everyone has a great day.Donna__________________________________________________________You rock. Guest guest
Hey all, I'm posting my workouts! WHOO HOOO!! Since I'm having to log on webmail at work (dropped my laptop this weekend and it won't come on now), please excuse any weird formatting issues. But anyways, here is what I did starting 4/26 when I added in my videos regularly: Saturday 4/26 Taught Power Hour at the gym, 50 minutes Treadmill, 30 minutes Body Waves Aerobics, 50 minutes, 2 1/2 shows on the end of the tape I had started doing at the beginning of the year Sunday 4/27 Co-Ed Training, Peripherial Heart Action Circuit, 20 minutes Gotta Sweat, Back and Biceps, 20 minutes Fitness Beach, Hourglass Figure, 20 minutes Flex Appeal, Awesome Abs/Back to Basics (she called it both), 20 minutes These were all on a compilation tape from ESPN2 about 12 years or so ago. Monday 4/28 Treadmill, 20 minutes Taught Pilates, 30 minutes Yoga Fitness for Kids, 30 minutes (This is a pretty good workout, some advanced poses, but mostly stuff anyone can do.) Tuesday 4/29 Needed a rest day Wednesday 4/30 Weights, Legs alternated with 1 minute sprints on the gazelle, 30 minutes Taught Stability Ball, 30 minutes Taught Yoga, 30 minutes Elmocise, 30 minutes (This was suppose to be Tuesdays video, so I was making it up from my rest day. Overall, this is more of a kids video then an exercise video, but it did have some exercises in it. Good for getting the kids to goof off with Mom. It was worth putting in my rotation just to get my 15 year old son to do it with me. I think I laughed more then I exercised. ) Was suppose to do Crunch Master Class Aerobics, but the tape is broken so I couldn't. So I went ahead and did one episode of Aerobic Conditioning that I was going to do on Friday instead. It was 20 minutes, and called A Bit O Mambo. A bit was right as the mambo was only done as one of the various moves. Mostly basic steps, but a decent workout after a long exercise day. Thursday 5/1 Dealt with going out of town to a dentist for my son, but then getting frustrated and not being able to get anything done there, so after a really long day on the road, I didn't exercise. Friday 5/2 Just lazy and didn't exercise. Saturday 5/3 Went shopping for my birthday and walked around the mall for 4 hours. Did the cardio portion of Tamilee Webb's Building Tighter Assets, 30 minutes (Fairly decent cardio workout. A couple of confusing steps, but that was more because I was doing it without the step because my leg was hurting. I've apparently pulled my right quad, so after the cardio portion, I just sat down and iced it.) Sunday 5/4 Decided that it was time to make up the missing videos from my unplanned rest days, so I did the following leaving out any quad work: Tamilee Webb's Building Tighter Assets, Muscle Conditioning Portion, 30 minutes 8 Minute Buns, 8 minutes Bodyshaping with Cory Everson, 45 minutes (1988 workout where she gives a series of exercises to be done in 6 week rotations, 3 days a week, progressing from Beginner to Advanced. I did the whole thing, minus the squats and lunges.) Cathe Muscle Endurance, Upper Body Only, 35 minutes. (I have this recorded from FitTV and had to fast forward through all of the leg work because of my sore quad.) Caribbean Workout Muscle Conditioning on the Ball, 22 minutes Baron Baptist's Power Yoga, 45 minutes. (This is broken down into 3 workouts. The first one is Sun Salutations for 20 minutes. Then Lower Body for 15 minutes. Then finally, abs for 10 minutes. The only Shavasana is at the end of the abs portion and is only 1-2 minutes. I would have liked a longer final relaxation, but it was okay.) Monday 5/5 Taught Pilates, 30 minutes Going home to do something else, but not sure if I'm going to make up my videos from yesterday that I haven't gotten to yet, (Yesterday is the only day I haven't made up yet.) or go ahead and do todays video and make up Sundays next weekend. We'll see. So, overall, I'm doing okay at sticking to getting the videos done, even if I'm not completely on rotation as to when I do them. Considering it is my first ever rotation, I think I'm doing pretty good. Tonya
