Guest guest Posted May 20, 2008 Report Share Posted May 20, 2008 I totally agree with you re: all the benefits you listed for walking, but for someone who's already in pretty good shape like Carolyn and I, I think you need to do more than that to improve fitness. It's better than nothing, for sure, but to really build some muscle and get the heart rate up I don't think regular walking is the answer. I think it's a SUPER enhancement though to an already vigorous rotation though! I walk mostly for my piece of mind. I really need to get away from the office and be outside sometimes, out in the fresh air as opposed to recycled air. I feel more in touch with my community when I walk. Carolyn, I feel your frustration. I need to get back on the bandwagon too. As you once told me, 'The hard work needs to be done!' Here's to pumpin' it and burnin' it!
