Guest guest
Okay, someone forgot to remind me that Track 2 (the high rep track) on this workout is high reps and that the weights I used for P90 would not work well for this! Oh wow! I did just the upper body workout (20 minutes) so after a short warm up (running in place for 3 minutes) I got into it and I'll be running off to work soon. I haven't done this in a long time and forgot how much Kathy () yells or whoops on this one. Kind of annoying for a busy morning but still a very effective workout. I felt so wimpy though! I haven't done upper body with dumbbells or pushups in about a month and I could really tell. I was able to do 8 or 9 toe pushups (out of 12 in the first set) and did the rest on my knees (the rest of the sets and reps, there were several sets). For the first exercise (can't remember what it is right now though) she said pick up your heaviest weight. I looked at mine and figured 12s (the heaviest I have) would be too heavy because it's been so long since I've done weight workouts so I picked up 10s. Oh wow that was a bad move! Tony had us doing 12-15 reps of each exercise so 10s and 12s were fine for some of the exercises. Track 2 of this workout has a set of 12 then, with no breaks, 3 sets of 4 pulses and then another set of 12 singles. So.... I quickly dropped down on what I expected to use for weights. My arms were shaking afterwards for a while and I'm still feeling it now (about a half hour later). I'm thinking about doing a solid 6 weeks with this entire disc (upper and lower body plus "bonus" abs section) again. I think I went 4 weeks last time I tried it but that was pre P90 determination and I wasn't really committed to it then. Maybe do this twice a week along with my other workouts each week (cardio, flexibility and maybe a circuit workout). It is a very effective and fun workout, despite Kathy's noise. I've never done track one (low reps, similar to P90) but because it is similar to P90 I don't want to do it now, I still want something different. I'm not sure I want to commit to anything right now though. OT: DH's doc called shortly after I called trying to get a new doc and when I heard her say her name I was worried the ladies in the office had told her I didn't like her! She knew nothing about that though and was calling to give DH results from a blood test he'd had done there last week. I had totally forgotten about that one and was just looking to the one coming up in a few weeks. She would not give me any specific results (privacy laws, I need to have DH sign something saying they can release info to me) but she did say "It's not bad news." DH is calling her later this morning and will call me, hopefully before my first class starts (I teach 2 on Wednesday mornings). Wish us luck and blessings!! Tomorrow is Walk Your Way Slim with Dozois. She also just did a new intermediate level workout specifically for Weight Watchers that we're selling in our meeting rooms now. I think it is $15 but as an employee I can get meeting room products for half price so if we have one at the center I work at today I'm picking it up without feeling guilty because of the price and might end up doing that tomorrow instead. We have a beginner workout (actually there are 4 or 5 different workouts on it) with Petra Kolber that I have too but I rarely do it because some of the workouts are too dancey and most are too beginner (there is yoga and two dance workouts and I can't remember what else). I'm thinking of selling or trading that one. I like Petra but it just isn't for me. I was so excited when I heard Dozois was doing one for us though and can't wait to get it! Dinner tonight is Red Robin for DS's 10th birthday. I need to go online and find something as close to decent as is possible there to eat (and plan the rest of my day around it). I looked quickly the other day and the cheeseburger I like is out unless I only eat half of it because it is literally my entire calorie/WW points allotment for the entire day! Oh well, you only turn 10 once so mom will find something to enjoy and will just deal with it! Off to work!
