Sometimes it's easier that way.. hi darcy! i do enjoy keeping my workout journal and using my HRM, but after doing it for so long (years?) i guess i need a break. i use them for motivation, and right now i feel a bit relieved to not have the pressure of the journal looming over me! Guest guest
This all sounds familiar to me, for sure! Years ago I wrote down everything for each workout, and even took my journal to the gym when I was traveling for work so I could check off each exercise. Of course, that's when I set up my own weight training or tranferred it from the software or plan I was using at the time, but I would also record all the cardio info - distance, cals, avg speed, etc as it was available. It is interesting to go back and read those old journals from time to time, but I doubt I'll be starting another one anytime soon. For now, I keep a big desk calendar hanging on the wall in my workout room and use star stickers, lol! And I also have smiley face stickers for any bonus workouts. It's actually been fun to see my trends with that. A few weeks ago I even had to tear my little star in half when I shortened up a dvd workout. I felt bad about that and remembered that feeling next time I thought about doing it. It kept me going. I just started using my HRM with my treadmill/elliptical again this week. It's been a while since I've watched my HR while on the machines, so it was kinda nice to see the numbers go up during the hill segments, heh. Whatever works! Sara > > I sooo hear you Carolyn. Guest guest
Too funny - when I read 's reply I was going to let her know about this site: http://www.printfree.com/ I print calendars from there all the time for planning what's for dinner so I can grocery shop more efficiently (and less frequently!). But Carolyn beat me to it and the site she shared looks much nicer!
