Guest guest
I want to post this tonight, before I go to bed. I owe some people notes and will try to get to it tomorrow. Busy day! Anyway, once again, Austin threw me a curveball. I was expecting a very repetitive, boring workout burning maybe 150 calories. I got a fun, not so repetitive 250 calorie burn! did not even annoy me at all! She amused me a lot but that's good. There are three 15 minute walking workouts and one 5 or 10 minute stretch on this DVD. The first walking workout is "Easy Walk" and it is all low impact and definitely aimed at beginners but with bigger arm movements and stronger leg movements you can do something with it. This would also be great for the rebounder but I wanted to do it on the floor to compare it with 's walking workouts. The movements are almost the same as 's but has different arm movements and 's style is less chatty (she talks constantly but it is a lot of cueing and a lot of encouragement, and only a little bit of "information" like telling you about the health benefits of what you're doing, etc.). It feels like a different workout and not more of the same which was very good. The second walking workout is "Interval Walk" and it has 4 (?) 30 second intervals of higher impact and higher intensity moves. The intervals were mostly good, one got my heart rate really up but I remember with the first one thinking "This is a high intensity interval?" The moves were mostly similar to the first workout but it felt different because of the intervals especially. It could also be done on a rebounder. The third walking workout ("Walk and Tone") uses weights. She suggests 1-3 pounds. I used 3s for the very beginning and decided they were too light and went to 5s then started getting concerned I was working my upper body too much because I want to do Get Ripped to the Core tomorrow so for the last few minutes I went back to 3s! The 5s made it a really good workout though. This workout goes more quickly than the others I thought. The weights made it really interesting. I don't think there was anything really different but for some reason it seemed different and I liked it a lot. The stretch was very good! She stretched muscles I had never heard of! Now I know where the IT band is (that talks about)! I actually am putting this workout on my wish list. It would be great for a lighter day, especially when I'm not in the mood for (I can hardly believe I might prefer 's style over 's some days but I can see it happening).
