Guest guest
Hi Kerry, in the states they advertise a drug called "Aricept" that is suppose to treat people with all stages of Dementia/Alzheimers, I don't know anything else about it...maybe you could ask your mom's Dr. about it. JenSubject: Re: Exercise today - Finally! - - Jen -CarolynTo: exercisevideos Date: Wednesday, July 9, 2008, 12:14 PM Thanks , I had to change her DNR yesterday when I went in. I got to thinking that if she went into the hospital that would just scare her, I think it is best if she stays where she is and knows everyone. A hard decision to make, but probably the best for Mom. , Thank you for thinking of us, it's been a bit tough, my brother just passed away June 5th. He had been sick for quite a while, and his wife recently left him way up north in Mackenzie BC, I haven't told my Mom because she doesn't remember anyway. Sometimes she thinks she has two girls and a boy, but she had two boys and a girl. Jen, Thank you for your kind words, I miss all of you too. My Mom is 84, and has dementia, so there is no getting better for her, I wish there was, but until they can find something that will reverse Alzheimer's I'm afraid we will have to deal with the way things are. Glad to hear your Mom is such a go getter, I hope she's like that for a long time. Carolyn, I had to do something, I'm starting to seize up! I also have to take it easy at first, I'm famous for doing too much at once and paying dearly for it later. Mom's disease is progressing, from what I know about this disease she will most likely have a few bad days, then rally and have a few good days. We just have to take one day at a time. 1b. I hope that she feels better soon! My mom just turned 81 on July 3rd, I can't believe that she is THAT old, the way she runs around you would think she was still a young chick. She has a bad arthritic back and bad legs & feet but it doesn't stop her. Take care and please post more if you can, I MISS YOU! Jen hi kerry!!! what a lovely walk today! i am so glad that you are ready to get back in action now... thats great news. we are all happy to see you! however, i am so sorry to hear that your mom is in bed that must be tough for you... i hope that the walk helped to take your mind off of things for a while. hang in there, :*carolyn.
