Guest guest
Diane, thanks for the review. I have been contemplating buying this for a while now. My 16yo *really* wants to try it (he wants to be ripped for baseball next spring) but I thought it might be too insane for him. I'm personally happy with TT for now, but also might be interested in P90X in the future. Good to hear from someone who's doing it. > On Saturday, I ran 3 miles and then later did Chest & Back and Ab > Ripper. A > gazillion pushups! Guest guest
It is definitely marketed toward men! My boyfriend walked in the room while I was doing Chest & Back and said " Man, that looks like some tough sh*t! " Which made me feel really good because it is and I was doing it! The Plyo workout - I am not a cardio person! But there is a background exerciser with a prosthetic leg! So if he can do it, I sure can! There is one women in each workout I've done so far (and I believe in each of them) - they are buff and inspirational! > Diane, thanks for the review. Guest guest
I'm not a cardio person either. I tried to play frisbee at the beach with my kids this weekend and realized I don't have enough/any? fast twitch muscles. Guest guest
Exactly what I was saying yesterday! I have NO fast twitch muscles! Funny! Guest guest
No doubt. It kills me watching my young and fit kids run around effortlessly. At least I'm not sitting on my duff anymore - trying to do something about it. > Exactly what I was saying yesterday! Guest guest
Diane, Sounds like you're doing really well. I am still what I consider a beginner at all of this (almost done with C1). I wanted to ask what is Plyo? And P90X has a yoga DVD? What is that like? Can it be purchased seperately? Thanks, Karyn > > On Saturday, I ran 3 miles and then later did Chest & Back and Ab Ripper. Guest guest
Diane, Thanks for the information. I did go to the P90X website, and after looking at everything, I don't think I am quite ready for those exercises yet. I am still working on getting BFL down pat, and while I realize there is no perfect 'challenge', I'd like to do much better in C2. I had some stalls this time, with skin disease, so I have found how to adapt the routines to my specific issues, I think my fat loss will just happen a lot slower than with most people. I think the most important thing is to get up every morning and try...eating clean, exercising......and enjoying the journey, instead of being worried about the end results. I've made some good observations about how I feel about fitness in my life, I will print them here when I am done with C1 in a few days. I hope they can help others who are in similar circumstances. The plyometrics does sound brutal.....I will save that for when I am under 200 lbs, less weight to heft lol. I did buy NROL for women, and will start using some of the exercises in the back of the book for when I need to change around the weight lifting routine. But right now, I am still learning what works best for me in terms of free weights and machines at the gym I attend. For now I will live vicariously through all the women here who have had quicker results lol. Mine are going to be s-l-o-w.
